Summary

This 2022 Nissan Sunny SV offers a highly practical solution for daily commuting, balancing modern efficiency with the essential technology GCC drivers prioritize. At four years old with 95,000 km, its usage is typical for the region's highway-centric driving habits, where these engines are known for their long-term durability. The SV trim provides a significant jump in daily convenience over the base model, including rear parking sensors and upgraded interior materials. In the UAE market, the Brown exterior is a professional, neutral choice that holds its appeal for future resale. For any buyer, the primary advantage remains Nissan's massive local presence, ensuring that maintenance is affordable and parts are available in every major city.

This Car vs Other 2022 Nissan Sunnys

At 95,000 km, this vehicle reflects the typical highway usage seen across the UAE, where annual averages of 25,000 km are standard. While higher than some low-mileage examples, this distance is well within the expected range for a four-year-old Japanese sedan built to handle frequent inter-city travel. The Brown exterior is a mature, low-maintenance choice that resists the visible effects of desert dust better than darker tones, supporting steady resale value.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim adds essential convenience features that the base S model lacks, most notably rear parking sensors which are vital for tight urban parking in Dubai or Riyadh. You also benefit from upgraded 15-inch wheels and a more refined interior finish, including premium fabric seats and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. These additions make the SV the preferred choice for owners who want a more modern feel without the higher price tag of the top-tier SL.

Nissan Sunny vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Toyota Yaris and Hyundai Accent, the Sunny leads with a massive 490-litre boot, providing significantly more room for family errands or airport runs. Its 1.5-litre engine is tuned specifically for efficiency, often outperforming the Hyundai in real-world fuel economy during heavy stop-start traffic. Furthermore, Nissan's service network density across the wider GCC provides a lower cost of ownership compared to newer entrants in the segment.

Running Costs & Resale

The Sunny is one of the most cost-effective vehicles to run in the region, achieving a combined fuel economy of approximately 5.7 L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with one of the largest authorized networks in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, maintenance is both convenient and competitively priced. Historically, the Sunny retains its value well due to high demand in the secondary market from both private buyers and fleet operators, typically depreciating at a stable 8-10% annually.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine produces a reliable 99 hp, which is perfectly suited for navigating city traffic and maintaining steady speeds on the E11 highway. The automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness and fuel preservation rather than aggressive acceleration, ensuring a comfortable ride during long commutes. Its front-wheel-drive layout and tight 5.2-meter turning circle make it exceptionally easy to maneuver through crowded residential areas and multi-level parking structures.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Sunny SV offers a surprisingly spacious cabin for its class, with class-leading rear legroom that comfortably accommodates three passengers. The air conditioning system is engineered to meet GCC requirements, providing rapid cooling even when external temperatures exceed 45°C. Practical storage solutions, including multiple cup holders and a wide glove box, complement the large 490-litre trunk to make this a highly effective family workhorse.

Safety

Safety is managed by Nissan's Zone Body construction and a comprehensive suite of active systems, including ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. This SV trim comes standard with dual front airbags and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), which is particularly useful for maintaining stability on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces. The inclusion of a Tire Pressure Monitoring System ensures you can keep an eye on tire health during the extreme heat of the summer months.

The bottom line

This Nissan Sunny SV is an ideal match for the budget-conscious professional or small family looking for a reliable, fuel-efficient daily driver with the backing of the GCC's strongest service network. It represents a smart opportunity to secure a modern, mid-trim sedan that is mechanically proven for local conditions.
