Summary

This 2022 Peugeot 3008 Active represents a sophisticated European alternative to the standard SUV segment, offering a distinct design language and a tech-forward cabin. With its fuel-efficient 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, it balances daily commuting needs with enough power for confident highway overtaking across the Emirates. The Red exterior is a vibrant, premium choice that helps this crossover stand out in a market dominated by neutral tones. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully optimized for local high-temperature conditions, ensuring the climate control and cooling systems perform reliably through the peak of summer. This is an ideal choice for buyers who value interior material quality and a car that feels significantly more premium than its Japanese or Korean rivals.

This Car vs Other 2022 3008s

At 76,000 km, this vehicle sits slightly above the average GCC annual mileage but remains within a healthy operational range for a four-year-old car driven regularly on UAE highways. The Red exterior is a distinctive choice that maintains strong appeal in the used market for buyers looking for a modern, European aesthetic. Being a GCC-spec model, it offers better long-term value and maintenance ease compared to imported units.

ACTIVE vs Lower Trims

The Active trim provides a high-quality entry point into the Peugeot range, featuring the signature i-Cockpit with a digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen as standard. It upgrades the experience with dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensors, and 17-inch alloy wheels. While higher trims add larger displays or leather, the Active retains the core European refinement and safety technology that makes the 3008 a standout.

3008 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan X-Trail, the 3008 leads with a more futuristic interior design and superior soft-touch materials. Its 520-litre boot offers competitive cargo space for a compact SUV, making it highly practical for family trips. While Japanese rivals focus on utility, the Peugeot offers a more engaging driving experience and advanced dashboard tech that usually requires a higher spend in other brands.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 7.7 L/100km, making it one of the more efficient turbocharged crossovers for long-distance Abu Dhabi to Dubai commutes. Service intervals in the GCC are typically every 10,000 km, with authorized service centers like Swaidan Al Naboodah providing extensive coverage across the UAE. The 3008 maintains moderate resale value, depreciating roughly 12-15% annually, which is standard for European SUVs in this class.

Performance & Capability

The 1.6-litre turbocharged engine delivers 165 hp, enabling a 0–100 km/h time of 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 201 km/h. This powertrain is paired with a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission, specifically tuned for the frequent stop-start traffic and high-speed highway merging typical of GCC cities. While it is a road-biased front-wheel-drive SUV, its generous 219 mm ground clearance makes it capable of handling unpaved tracks and gravel roads during weekend getaways.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features the acclaimed Peugeot i-Cockpit, placing a compact steering wheel below a high-mounted digital display to reduce eye travel while driving. Dual-zone automatic air conditioning with dedicated rear vents ensures all 5 passengers remain comfortable during the desert summer. The 520-litre boot features a flat floor for easy loading, expanding to over 1,480 litres with the rear seats folded for significant cargo capacity.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus with 6 airbags, ABS, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as standard features. The 3008 holds a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, supported by driver assistance systems including cruise control with a speed limiter and rear parking sensors to aid visibility in tight urban spaces. Its reinforced chassis and firmed suspension provide stable handling at highway speeds, a vital factor for high-speed UAE road networks.

The bottom line

Perfect for the tech-savvy professional or a small family, this GCC-spec 3008 offers European flair and turbocharged efficiency at a competitive price point.
