Summary

This 2022 Suzuki Ertiga GL is a practical choice for large families or businesses, offering seven seats in a fuel-efficient package. With 99,000 km, the mileage is average for a GCC-based workhorse and reflects its reliability as a consistent daily commuter. The white exterior is the strongest resale color in the regional used market, ensuring better value retention and faster turnover when you are ready to upgrade. As a GCC-spec model, it is purpose-built to handle the intense summer heat with a cooling system optimized for the region. The GL trim provides essential modern comforts that make it a standout choice for those seeking a durable, low-maintenance seven-seater.

This Car vs Other 2022 Ertigas

At 99,000 km, this Ertiga has covered roughly 33,000 km per year, which is typical for multi-passenger vehicles in the GCC used for highway-heavy commuting between emirates. While slightly higher than the global average, this mileage is well within the expectations for a Japanese-engineered engine known for longevity. The white paint is the most sought-after color for this model in the region, providing a significant advantage for future resale value.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim offers a significant upgrade over the base GA variant by adding features specifically valued by GCC families, such as rear air conditioning vents to keep all three rows cool during summer. It also includes electronically adjustable side mirrors, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, and body-colored door handles that give it a more premium appearance. These additions make the GL a more comfortable and convenient choice for daily family use compared to the entry-level trim.

Ertiga vs Segment Rivals

The Suzuki Ertiga leads its segment in fuel efficiency, outperforming rivals like the Toyota Rush and Mitsubishi Xpander in real-world running costs. Its compact footprint makes it easier to park in tight city spaces than larger MPVs, yet it still offers a flat-folding seat configuration that provides up to 803 liters of cargo space. For buyers prioritizing low maintenance costs and high fuel economy over pure engine power, the Ertiga remains the top choice in the mini-MPV class.

Running Costs & Resale

With a manufacturer-claimed combined fuel consumption of 5.7 L/100km, the Ertiga is exceptionally affordable to run in stop-start city traffic. Suzuki enjoys an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, with parts being among the most affordable in the market. The model typically sees a 10% annual depreciation rate, which is lower than European competitors, making it a safe investment for value-conscious buyers.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine delivers 105 hp, which is perfectly balanced for urban driving and steady highway cruising. It features 180 mm of ground clearance, allowing it to easily clear speed bumps and uneven road surfaces common in suburban developments. While not built for speed, the 4-speed automatic transmission is tuned for reliability and smooth power delivery during full-occupancy trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for family logistics, featuring a flexible seven-seat layout and dedicated second-row air conditioning vents that are essential for the GCC climate. Front occupants benefit from ventilated cupholders to keep drinks cool, while the fabric seats are chosen for their durability and heat resistance during peak summer months. The GL's cabin provides a quiet, insulated environment that makes long-distance drives between cities more relaxing for all passengers.

Safety

Standard safety features on this GL trim include dual front SRS airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and ISOFIX child seat anchors. It also features rear parking sensors, which are highly useful for maneuvering a seven-seater in crowded urban parking lots. The inclusion of side-impact door beams adds an extra layer of structural protection for all occupants.

The bottom line

This Ertiga is the ideal match for a buyer needing a dependable seven-seater with the lowest possible running costs and the highest resale potential in the UAE market.
