Summary

This 2016 Dodge Charger SXT offers the ideal balance of American muscle presence and daily-driver efficiency for the GCC. While V8 variants are common, this V6 SXT delivers ample highway power without the high fuel overhead, making it a practical choice for long commutes between emirates. The grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice in the local market, offering better heat reflection and resale stability than darker tones. In the competitive large sedan segment, the Charger stands out for its aggressive styling and rear-wheel-drive dynamics that rivals simply don't match. For a GCC buyer, this represents a chance to own a modern muscle icon with manageable running costs.

This Car vs Other 2016 Chargers

With a mileage of 301,992 km, this vehicle has served as a consistent long-distance runner, typical for highway-heavy use in the region where annual averages often exceed 25,000 km. While the mileage is higher than average, it reflects the model's mechanical durability for extended cross-emirate travel. The grey finish is a strong resale asset in the UAE, maintaining its appeal far better than niche colors.

SXT vs Lower Trims

Moving up to the SXT trim from the base SE adds essential features for the GCC climate, most notably the larger 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen and automatic climate control with dedicated rear vents. You also benefit from a premium 6-speaker audio system with a 276W amplifier and power-adjustable seating, providing a significantly more executive feel during long desert drives.

Charger vs Segment Rivals

The Dodge Charger leads rivals like the Nissan Maxima and Toyota Avalon in road presence and raw styling, offering a rear-wheel-drive platform that provides a more engaging drive. Its 70-litre fuel tank ensures fewer stops on long stretches like the E11, giving it a range advantage over smaller-tank competitors. While rivals focus on soft luxury, the Charger prioritizes a planted, muscular feel.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.6L Pentastar V6 is remarkably efficient for its size, averaging roughly 10.3 L/100km in combined cycles, though GCC city traffic will see this rise. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, and the Dodge network is well-established across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. As a Canadian spec, it features a factory metric cluster (km/h and Celsius) which is highly preferred for local registration and daily use over US-spec imports.

Performance & Capability

Producing 292 hp, the Charger SXT offers smooth, linear acceleration that is perfectly suited for high-speed highway overtaking. The 8-speed automatic transmission is geared for efficiency, keeping RPMs low during cruising to maximize comfort. While it is a dedicated road sedan, the heavy-duty suspension is designed to handle the high-temperature surface conditions of regional motorways with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the SXT cabin is designed for five adults, featuring spacious legroom that rivals executive limousines. The dual-zone climate control is a necessity for the UAE summer, quickly cooling the large cabin through optimized ducting. Acoustic glass and thick insulation help isolate passengers from road noise and exterior heat, making it a quiet sanctuary during peak-hour traffic.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with the SXT trim, including advanced multistage front airbags, supplemental side-curtain airbags, and a driver's knee-bolster airbag. Electronic Stability Control and All-Speed Traction Control come standard, providing essential grip on sandy or oil-slicked road surfaces. Ready Alert Braking and Brake Assist further enhance stopping power during sudden highway slowdowns.

The bottom line

This Charger SXT is the perfect entry point for a buyer wanting muscle car looks with V6 practicality, offering a factory-metric Canadian spec that simplifies life in the UAE.
