The GAC Aion S all-electric sedan is the first of the new GAC Group sub-brand. The premiere of the model took place in November 2018 at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The GAC claims that the Aion S has a drag coefficient of 0.245, which is comparable to the parameters of the Tesla Model 3. The car features a stylish design with a streamlined front panel that includes complex LED headlights, a "fang-shaped" trim on the lower part of the bumper. The sloping roof flows down smoothly to the stern, leaving a small trunk tail. Aion S is the first electric car in China to use solar cells to keep the interior ventilation system energy efficient and reduce the power required for charging. The electric car is offered with different performance and autonomy options.
