Summary

This 2023 GAC GS8 GX represents a significant value opportunity in the GCC's mid-size SUV market, offering a premium cabin experience at a fraction of the cost of its Japanese rivals. With under 50,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven well below the typical regional average of 25,000 km per year, preserving its mechanical longevity. The crystal white exterior is the most sought-after resale color in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, effectively reflecting the intense desert sun and maintaining strong value in the pre-owned market. As the range-topping GX trim, it provides high-end features like ventilated seating and an advanced camera system that are essential for local summer comfort. For the modern GCC family, this is a refined, tech-forward cruiser that handles both the daily city commute and cross-border road trips with ease.

This Car vs Other 2023 GAC GS8s

With 47,502 km, this GS8 has been utilized significantly less than the regional average, which often exceeds 60,000 km for a two-year-old vehicle in the GCC. The white paintwork is a strategic choice for local buyers, as it is the most resilient color against the heat and commands the highest demand in the used market. Choosing this specific listing ensures you are getting a top-tier GX trim with lower-than-average wear on the all-wheel-drive components.

GX vs Lower Trims

The GX trim is the flagship of the GS8 range, adding critical features that GCC buyers prioritize, such as ventilated front seats for summer comfort and a crystal-clear 360° camera system for easier parking. Unlike the base GL models, the GX includes an upgraded 14.6-inch infotainment screen and a full suite of driver assistance technologies like adaptive cruise control. It also features a premium audio system and interior ambient lighting, providing a luxury atmosphere that lower trims lack.

GAC GS8 vs Segment Rivals

The GS8 is frequently cross-shopped with the Toyota Highlander and Kia Sorento, where it leads primarily on interior technology and sheer cabin space for the price. While rivals often reserve features like a panoramic sunroof and large digital cockpits for expensive high-spec editions, the GS8 includes these as standard. Its turbocharged engine provides a punchy 400 Nm of torque, which is superior for highway overtaking compared to many naturally aspirated V6 competitors in the same bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

In GCC stop-start traffic, you can expect a fuel consumption of approximately 12.4 km/L, while long highway stretches between emirates will see improved efficiency. GAC has established a strong service presence across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman through authorized distributors like Gargash and Aljomaih, ensuring parts availability is reliable. While Chinese brands typically see a slightly higher initial depreciation of roughly 15-18% annually, the GS8's growing popularity and GCC-spec status help it retain better value than non-regional imports.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivers a robust 200 horsepower, paired with an intelligent All-Wheel Drive system that is perfectly suited for gravel tracks or sandy weekend escapes. It features selectable driving modes including Sand, Mud, and Snow, allowing the vehicle to adapt its torque distribution for GCC-specific terrain. On the highway, the 8-speed automatic transmission ensures a quiet, composed ride at cruising speeds, making long-distance travel across the region effortless.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is designed with GCC families in mind, featuring a powerful multi-zone climate control system with dedicated vents for all three rows. The GX trim's ventilated seats are a game-changer during the peak of the Middle Eastern summer, keeping the driver and front passenger cool even on the longest drives. High-quality materials and acoustic glass help insulate the cabin from outside wind noise and heat, creating a serene environment for city or highway trips.

Safety

This GS8 GX is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite designed for the high-speed multi-lane highways of the GCC. It features six airbags, blind-spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system that provides total visibility during tight maneuvers. Standard active safety systems like lane-keeping assist and automatic emergency braking provide an extra layer of protection, while the electronic stability control is specifically tuned to manage the vehicle's footprint on varied road surfaces.

The bottom line

This low-mileage, top-trim GS8 is the perfect match for a GCC buyer who wants a luxury-sized family SUV with modern tech without the premium price tag of established Japanese brands.
