Summary

This 2023 GMC Yukon AT4 is a powerhouse built for both high-speed highway cruising and weekend adventures. With its robust V8 and off-road-oriented hardware, it strikes a rare balance between family comfort and genuine trail capability. The black exterior is highly sought after in the GCC market, ensuring strong resale value and a commanding presence on the road. Having covered 75,000 km in three years, it has been put to good use on the UAE's vast highway network and is now ready for its next owner. For those seeking the utility of a seven-seater without sacrificing the ruggedness needed for the desert, this AT4 is the segment's most versatile choice.

This Car vs Other 2023 Yukons

At 75,000 km, this Yukon has averaged 25,000 km per year, which aligns perfectly with typical GCC usage where long-distance commuting is standard. Its black finish is a top-tier resale color in the local market, often commanding a premium over less traditional shades. This mileage suggests a vehicle that has been used primarily for highway travel, which is ideal for maintaining mechanical longevity in the region.

AT4 vs Lower Trims

The AT4 trim significantly upgrades the SLT with off-road hardware including a front skid plate with a 32-degree approach angle and a two-speed transfer case for low-range capability. It also adds Magnetic Ride Control and red recovery hooks, features that are essential for owners who value both on-road stability and off-road readiness. Inside, you benefit from a heated steering wheel and ventilated front seats as standard equipment.

Yukon vs Segment Rivals

The Yukon AT4 competes directly with the Nissan Patrol and Toyota Land Cruiser, standing out with its massive 10.2-inch infotainment screen and class-leading cargo volume. While rivals often focus on tradition, the Yukon offers a more modern, tech-forward cabin and the smooth shifting of a 10-speed automatic transmission. Its V8 displacement provides a relaxed torque delivery that is particularly comfortable during cross-country drives across the Emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect a combined fuel consumption of approximately 13.5 L/100km, which is competitive for a heavy-duty V8 SUV in GCC stop-start traffic and highway conditions. GMC maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are always readily available. The Yukon is a staple of the GCC used market, typically retaining its value better than European luxury rivals at the three-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The 6.2L V8 delivers a commanding 420 hp and 624 Nm of torque, making highway overtaking effortless even with seven passengers on board. The Active Response 4WD system is designed to handle GCC terrain, automatically shifting power to the wheels with the most grip during desert excursions. With a maximum towing capacity of over 3,700 kg, it easily manages boat trailers or campers for long weekends away.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features a seven-seat layout with generous legroom in all three rows, making it a true family workhorse. Tri-zone climate control and high-output cooling vents ensure passenger comfort even during the peak of the GCC summer. The interior is insulated to a high standard, providing a quiet sanctuary from wind and road noise during long stretches on the E11 or E311 highways.

Safety

Standard safety features on this AT4 include the GMC Pro Safety Plus package, which provides a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. These systems are invaluable for navigating tight city parking and multi-lane highway traffic. It also features lane-keep assist and automatic emergency braking, offering comprehensive protection for every family journey.

The bottom line

For the active GCC family that needs a rugged off-roader without losing executive-level tech, this black-on-black AT4 is a proven and highly desirable option.
