Summary

This Infiniti QX55 Essential is a standout choice in the UAE market, offering the perfect middle-ground between the base Luxe and top-tier Sensory trims. The grey exterior is a top performer for resale value in the GCC, as it resists showing desert dust far better than darker tones. With a sleek coupe-like silhouette, it provides a distinctive road presence that sets it apart from more conventional SUV shapes. This specific vehicle represents a strong buy for those seeking a modern luxury crossover with all-wheel-drive confidence for long inter-emirate commutes.

This Car vs Other 2023 QX55s

With 52,993 km on the clock, this QX55 sits exactly where you would expect a two-year-old vehicle to be in the GCC, where annual averages of 25,000 km are standard. The grey metallic finish is highly regarded for local resale, offering a practical yet premium look that hides the fine sand typical of UAE roads. Choosing a GCC-spec model ensures the cooling and filtration systems are specifically calibrated for the region's extreme summer heat.

ESSENTIAL vs Lower Trims

The Essential trim provides several critical upgrades that GCC buyers value, most notably the 16-speaker Bose® Performance Series audio system and ventilated front seats, which are essential for comfort during the UAE summer. It also adds a 360-degree Around View Monitor and front parking sensors, making it significantly easier to navigate tight mall parking structures compared to the base Luxe trim. Additional safety tech like Traffic Sign Recognition and an Adaptive Front Lighting system are also included here.

QX55 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the BMW X4 and Audi Q5, the QX55 stands out with its standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and the innovative VC-Turbo engine technology. It offers a more generous 762 litres of boot space with the seats up, outclassing many coupe-style crossovers in practicality for family shopping trips. Its focus on cabin quietness and seat comfort makes it a more relaxed cruiser for the long highway stretches between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L VC-Turbo engine delivers a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 9.0 L/100km, which is competitive for a luxury AWD crossover in GCC traffic. Infiniti maintains a strong authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts and professional maintenance are easily accessible. Historical data suggests the QX55 holds its value well in the local market, typically seeing a depreciation rate of 12-15% annually, which is better than many European rivals in the same class.

Performance & Capability

The QX55 is powered by the world's first production Variable Compression Turbo engine, delivering 268 hp and 380 Nm of torque for effortless highway overtaking. It achieves a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 6.6 to 7.1 seconds, providing brisk acceleration that feels responsive in city traffic. While designed for the road, the Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system provides extra stability on rain-slicked tarmac or light gravel paths during weekend getaways.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of leather and high-tech displays, featuring the dual-screen InTouch infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay. Rear passengers benefit from sliding and reclining seats, a rare feature in the coupe-SUV segment that ensures long-distance comfort for adult occupants. The Essential trim’s climate-controlled seats and powerful AC system are purpose-built to maintain a cool environment even when external temperatures exceed 45°C.

Safety

Standard safety on the Essential trim includes the comprehensive ProPILOT Assist suite, which combines Intelligent Cruise Control and Steering Assist for easier long-distance driving. You also get Blind Spot Intervention and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, both of which are invaluable on the fast-moving multi-lane highways of the UAE. The addition of a 360-degree camera system ensures maximum visibility when maneuvering in congested urban environments.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec QX55 Essential is the ideal acquisition for a professional or small family who wants a stylish, technology-packed crossover that is already optimized for the local climate.
