Summary

This 2023 QX80 represents a rare opportunity to own a range-topping LUXE SENSORY trim that serves as the ultimate long-distance family cruiser for the GCC. With the iconic naturally aspirated 5.6L V8, it offers a level of mechanical simplicity and effortless highway power that few modern turbocharged rivals can match. Black on black remains a high-demand executive color choice in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring this SUV maintains a commanding presence from the city to the desert. For the GCC buyer, the standard ventilated seating and advanced climate control are essential for summer comfort, while the body-on-frame durability provides peace of mind for weekend family adventures. This specific listing is a strong buy for those who prioritize the massive interior space of an eight-seater paired with Infiniti’s most premium luxury appointments.

This Car vs Other 2023 QX80s

With 80,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven approximately 40,000 km per year, which is higher than the regional average but typical for luxury SUVs used for cross-emirate commuting. This highway-heavy usage often results in less wear on the transmission and brakes compared to city-driven equivalents. The Black exterior is a perennially strong resale color in the GCC, offering better value retention than more niche shades.

LUXE SENSORY vs Lower Trims

The SENSORY trim is a significant step up from the base LUXE, most notably adding the Bose Performance Series 17-speaker audio system and quilted semi-aniline leather-appointed seating. It also includes the Advanced Climate Control System with a Plasmacluster air purifier and ventilated front seats, which are critical upgrades for the GCC's extreme summer heat. Unlike the lower trims, you also get the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system for a flatter, more composed ride through corners.

QX80 vs Segment Rivals

The QX80 leads rivals like the Lexus LX and Cadillac Escalade in offering a more traditional, high-displacement V8 experience that many GCC owners prefer for its reliability. Its massive 98-liter fuel tank is specifically designed for the long desert stretches between cities, providing superior range to many European turbocharged competitors. Furthermore, the eight-seat configuration provides more genuine utility for large families than many luxury SUVs in this class.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.6L V8 is a robust, time-tested engine with a strong service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, making parts and maintenance more accessible than for many niche luxury brands. Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 14.5L/100km, though this can increase in stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. As a GCC-spec model, it retains a significant value premium over American imports and typically depreciates at roughly 10-12% annually, performing well against its Japanese counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 delivers a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 7.5 seconds, providing confident overtaking power on fast-moving UAE highways. With a maximum braked towing capacity of 3,855 kg, it is one of the most capable vehicles in the segment for hauling boats or trailers to the coast. The body-on-frame construction and All-Mode 4WD system ensure it handles sandy terrain and gravel tracks with far more ease than road-biased monocoque crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

This eight-seater configuration is ideal for large families, featuring a 60/40-split folding third row that remains usable even for adults. The SENSORY trim features a dedicated rear climate zone with roof-mounted vents to ensure all passengers stay cool during peak summer. The cabin is further refined with Mocha Burl wood trim and acoustic glass that significantly reduces wind noise during high-speed highway cruising.

Safety

The 2023 QX80 LUXE SENSORY comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite including Blind Spot Intervention, Lane Departure Prevention, and Predictive Forward Collision Warning. The 360-degree Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection is particularly useful for maneuvering this large SUV in tight urban parking spaces. Additionally, the Smart Rearview Mirror provides a clear digital camera feed even when the rear cabin is fully loaded with passengers or luggage.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec QX80 SENSORY is the perfect match for a family looking for maximum seating capacity and premium V8 power without the complexity of modern turbocharged engines. It offers the highest available luxury trim in a resale-friendly color, making it a safe and prestigious investment for the local market.
