Summary

This 2023 Infiniti QX80 Sensory Proactive is a standout example of Japan's premier flagship SUV, offering a blend of bulletproof reliability and high-tier luxury that rivals European alternatives. With 77,000 km over three years, its mileage reflects typical highway-heavy GCC usage, while the black exterior remains a top-tier choice for retaining resale value in the local market. As the range-topping Sensory Proactive trim, it includes every advanced driver assistance and comfort feature Infiniti offers, making it a superior choice for families who prioritize both safety and presence. This model is particularly valued in the GCC for its massive V8 performance and its ability to handle long, cross-emirate drives with exceptional cabin cooling and passenger comfort. For a buyer seeking the ultimate balance between a rugged 4x4 platform and a refined executive interior, this listing represents a prime opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2023 QX80s

At 77,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is standard for a three-year-old SUV in the GCC, where annual averages frequently reach 25,000 km due to long highway commutes. The black-on-black configuration is highly sought after in the regional used market, ensuring it stays at the top of the resale value curve compared to less common colors. Choosing a 2023 model allows you to benefit from the modern 12.3-inch infotainment upgrade while avoiding the steeper initial depreciation of a brand-new unit.

SENSORY PROACTIVE vs Lower Trims

The Sensory Proactive trim is the absolute pinnacle of the QX80 range, adding significant hardware and tech that the Luxe and Premium Select trims lack. You get the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system for flatter cornering, plus a 17-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system and semi-aniline quilted leather seating. Crucially for the GCC, this trim upgrades to climate-controlled front seats and adds the full suite of ProActive safety tech, including Lane Departure Prevention and Blind Spot Intervention.

QX80 vs Segment Rivals

The QX80 leads rivals like the Lexus LX and Cadillac Escalade in terms of sheer mechanical simplicity and long-term durability thanks to its proven 5.6L V8 and body-on-frame construction. It offers a more spacious and accessible third row than many European competitors such as the BMW X7, making it a more practical choice for large GCC families. Additionally, its massive 98-litre fuel tank provides a significantly longer cruising range for cross-border desert highway trips.

Running Costs & Resale

The QX80 is known for having some of the most stable resale values in the luxury SUV segment, typically retaining its value better than European rivals over a three-year period in the GCC. Maintenance is straightforward through Infiniti’s extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, with service intervals generally set at every 10,000 km. While the V8 is powerful, it is optimized for regional fuel grades, ensuring consistent performance even in extreme summer heat.

Performance & Capability

The naturally aspirated 5.6-litre V8 delivers a commanding 400 hp and 560 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 7.3 seconds. Its 3,856 kg towing capacity makes it a leader for hauling boats or trailers, while the All-Mode 4WD system with a dedicated low-range transfer case ensures genuine desert capability. On the highway, the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system keeps the vehicle remarkably stable, providing a smooth, lounge-like ride across long distances.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a sanctuary designed for the GCC climate, featuring a high-capacity tri-zone climate control system with rear cooling vents that are effective even in 45-degree heat. This seven-seat configuration includes second-row captain's chairs and a power-folding third row for effortless flexibility. The cabin is further refined with acoustic glass and semi-aniline leather, ensuring a quiet, premium environment that remains comfortable during extended family road trips.

Safety

Standard safety on the Sensory Proactive trim is comprehensive, featuring an Intelligent Around View Monitor with 360-degree visibility for easy parking of this large SUV. It includes a full ADAS suite with Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Backup Collision Intervention, and Intelligent Cruise Control for safer highway driving. With eight airbags and a reinforced body-on-frame structure, it provides one of the most secure environments for family travel in its class.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants a fully-specced, GCC-spec flagship that combines Japanese reliability with a high-prestige black-on-black aesthetic. It offers better value and more standard equipment than its European rivals while remaining one of the most durable luxury vehicles on the market today.
