Summary

This 3-year-old Lexus GX460 Premier represents one of the final opportunities to own the legendary naturally aspirated V8 powertrain before the model's generation shift. As a GCC-spec vehicle in high-demand White, it offers superior cooling performance and strong resale potential in the local market. The GX remains a unique proposition in the segment, pairing a rugged body-on-frame construction with the refinement expected of a luxury seven-seater. With its blend of desert-ready capability and daily urban comfort, it is perfectly suited for family life across the Emirates. For the GCC buyer, this is a chance to secure a bulletproof off-roader that retains its value exceptionally well.

This Car vs Other 2023 GX460s

With 90,370 km on the odometer, this vehicle's mileage is slightly above the typical GCC annual average for a 3-year-old luxury SUV, reflecting the long-distance highway use these cars are built for. The White exterior is the most sought-after color in the regional used market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention compared to darker tones. Being a 2023 model, it features the updated 10.3-inch touchscreen with modern smartphone integration found only in the final production years.

PREMIER vs Lower Trims

The Premier trim provides a significant comfort upgrade over the base models by adding ventilated front seats and a three-zone automatic climate control system—both essential for the GCC summer. It also incorporates rain-sensing wipers, LED fog lamps, and an integrated navigation system as standard. These additions enhance the luxury experience during long cross-border drives while maintaining the vehicle's robust mechanical core.

GX460 vs Segment Rivals

The Lexus GX460 leads rivals like the Land Rover Discovery and BMW X5 in long-term durability thanks to its proven body-on-frame platform shared with the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. While competitors have moved to smaller turbocharged engines, the Lexus retains a naturally aspirated V8 that offers linear power delivery and superior reliability in extreme heat. Its 87-litre fuel tank provides a generous cruising range for long desert highway stretches between major cities.

Running Costs & Resale

Lexus maintains one of the strongest resale values in the GCC, with the GX460 typically depreciating at a lower rate than European luxury equivalents. Fuel consumption averages approximately 12.8 L/100km, though urban stop-start traffic in cities like Dubai may see figures closer to 16 L/100km. Authorized service centers are widely available across all GCC states, and the mechanical simplicity of the 4.6L V8 ensures parts are readily accessible and maintenance is straightforward.

Performance & Capability

The 292 hp V8 engine provides ample torque for highway overtaking and confident desert driving. The standard Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) automatically adjusts the stabilizer bars to minimize body roll on the road while allowing maximum wheel travel for off-road obstacles. With 220 mm of ground clearance and a dedicated low-range transfer case, this SUV is as capable of weekend dune exploration as it is at smooth highway cruising.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Premier trim offers a premium 7-seat layout with leather upholstery and high-quality acoustic glass to insulate the cabin from external heat and road noise. The ventilated front seats are a critical feature for the region, providing immediate relief during peak summer months. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated climate zones and adjustable second-row seating, making it a comfortable long-distance cruiser for the whole family.

Safety

The 2023 GX460 comes equipped with the Lexus Safety System+, which includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, and High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control for safer highway travel. Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are particularly helpful in fast-moving multi-lane traffic, while 10 standard airbags provide comprehensive protection for all seven occupants.

The bottom line

This is a prime choice for a GCC buyer seeking the legendary reliability of a V8 Lexus in its final, most refined production year. It offers the perfect balance of prestige, family utility, and go-anywhere capability that few modern SUVs can match.
