Summary

This Lexus LX570 Platinum is a definitive choice for GCC buyers, benefiting from the region's strongest resale color and a legendary reputation for durability. At 163,000 km, its mileage sits within the expected range for a 9-year-old vehicle in a market where long highway commutes are standard. The Platinum trim distinguishes itself by bridging the gap between rugged off-road capability and executive-level refinement. While it shares its robust DNA with the Land Cruiser, the LX570 offers a significantly quieter cabin and superior materials tailored for local conditions. For a buyer seeking the ultimate blend of status, reliability, and family comfort, this is an excellent opportunity in the current market.

This Car vs Other 2017 LX570s

With 163,000 km over 9 years, this vehicle has averaged roughly 18,000 km per year, which is notably lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. Its white exterior is the most sought-after color in the regional used market, ensuring faster resale and better heat reflection during peak summer. Compared to other high-mileage examples, this GCC-spec unit retains its value through its documented suitability for local fuel grades and extreme temperatures.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim is the top-tier specification, adding essential GCC luxuries that lower trims like the Prestige lack. It features the 19-speaker Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound system, semi-aniline leather upholstery, and ventilated seats for both the front and second rows. You also get the 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor and the Rear Seat Entertainment system with dual 11.6-inch screens, making it the preferred choice for family road trips.

LX570 vs Segment Rivals

Against rivals like the Cadillac Escalade and Infiniti QX80, the LX570 leads in pure off-road hardware, featuring a dedicated low-range transfer case and hydraulic height control. Its 138-litre dual fuel tank system offers a significant range advantage for long-distance desert crossings and inter-emirate travel. While the Escalade offers more sheer cargo volume, the Lexus provides unmatched mechanical reliability and a more extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically ranges between 15.7L/100km and 19L/100km in GCC stop-start traffic, requiring 95 or 98 octane petrol. Service intervals are strictly every 10,000 km or 6 months to maintain the health of the V8 in high-heat conditions. The LX570 enjoys some of the lowest depreciation rates in the luxury SUV segment, typically retaining 60-65% of its value even after several years of use. Parts are widely available across the entire GCC through Al-Futtaim and Abdul Latif Jameel networks.

Performance & Capability

The 5.7-liter V8 delivers a verified 381 horsepower and 530 Nm of torque, providing smooth highway overtaking even when fully loaded with eight passengers. Its full-time All-Wheel Drive system is paired with Multi-Terrain Select, allowing the driver to optimize traction for rock, dirt, or deep sand. The Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) allows you to adjust ground clearance at the touch of a button, ensuring comfort on tarmac and high clearance when exploring desert dunes.

Comfort & Cabin

The 8-seat cabin is designed as a sanctuary from the GCC summer, featuring a high-output four-zone climate control system and a cooled center console box for beverages. The interior utilizes acoustic glass to minimize wind noise during high-speed highway cruising. Power-folding third-row seats allow for quick transitions between passenger hauling and cargo duties, while the semi-aniline leather remains durable against the local climate's intensity.

Safety

The Platinum trim comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+, featuring All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert, both invaluable for long desert highways. A 360-degree camera system simplifies parking this large SUV in tight urban spaces. Standard Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert provide vital assistance in fast-moving multi-lane traffic common in Dubai and Riyadh.

The bottom line

This LX570 Platinum is perfect for a family that demands luxury without sacrificing the rugged durability needed for GCC life. It represents a secure investment in a vehicle known for outlasting its competitors while holding its value exceptionally well.
