Summary

This 2023 Sprinter 316 CDI is a rare find in the GCC, offering a near-new mileage of just 3,500 km which is significantly lower than the typical 25,000 km annual average for regional vans. As a European-spec model finished in high-resale Black, it bridges the gap between a workhorse and a luxury shuttle, making it an ideal candidate for high-end hospitality or large-family logistics. The 200 hp 2.0L diesel engine provides the necessary torque for highway efficiency, a major plus for cross-border trips where fuel range is a priority. For a GCC buyer, the combination of Mercedes-Benz refinement and the remaining mechanical lifespan at this mileage makes it a standout commercial investment.

This Car vs Other 2023 Sprinters

With only 3,500 km on the odometer, this Sprinter sits in the top tier of the used market, effectively offering a new-car experience at a pre-owned value. While most 2023 Sprinters in the GCC have already covered 40,000 km or more in commercial service, this example remains in pristine condition. The Black exterior is a massive advantage for resale in the UAE, where dark executive tones command higher demand than standard commercial white.

316 CDI vs Lower Trims

The 316 CDI trim brings a critical power bump over the 311 and 314 variants, providing 400 Nm of torque that is essential when carrying a full load of eight passengers plus cargo. This specific European configuration adds the MBUX multimedia system and a 360° camera, features often absent on base fleet trims but vital for navigating tight parking in Dubai or Riyadh.

Sprinter vs Segment Rivals

Against the Ford Transit and RAM ProMaster, the Sprinter leads with its 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, providing a smoother highway cruising experience common on the E11. Its diesel powertrain offers superior torque at lower RPMs compared to the V6 gasoline rivals, resulting in better efficiency for long-haul drives between emirates. The cabin quality and sound insulation also set a higher benchmark, making it more suitable for VIP transport.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L diesel engine is optimized for efficiency, typically consuming between 7.4L and 8.2L/100km on combined cycles, though stop-start city traffic in peak heat will see higher figures. Mercedes-Benz offers generous service intervals of 40,000 km or two years, supported by an extensive authorized network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Historically, well-maintained Sprinters retain approximately 60-70% of their value after three years in the GCC, outperforming most non-German rivals.

Performance & Capability

The twin-turbocharged 2.0L diesel delivers a robust 200 hp, ensuring the van never feels sluggish when merging onto fast-moving GCC highways. The 9-speed automatic transmission is geared for quick downshifts, providing agile acceleration during overtaking maneuvers. With its Front Wheel Drive setup, the van maintains a lower floor height, facilitating easier passenger ingress and egress compared to traditional RWD heavy-duty vans.

Comfort & Cabin

The 8-seat configuration is laid out for maximum passenger comfort, featuring high-performance roof-mounted air conditioning essential for the 45°C+ summer months. European-spec insulation provides a quiet environment, shielding passengers from road noise during long desert highway stretches. The MBUX interface includes smartphone integration, ensuring modern connectivity for the driver and seamless navigation across the region.

Safety

This Sprinter is equipped with a full suite of ADAS including Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Crosswind Assist, which is particularly useful on exposed desert roads. The inclusion of a 360° camera and multiple airbags provides peace of mind for both commercial and private use. These safety features are standard on this trim, offering a level of protection that is often an optional extra for its segment competitors.

The bottom line

For the executive transport operator or large family looking for a nearly-new vehicle with European refinement and top-tier features, this ultra-low mileage Sprinter represents one of the most secure investments currently available in the GCC market.
