The silver exterior is a top performer for resale in the region, helping to protect your investment over time. Inside, you get a tech-forward cabin that makes daily commutes across the Emirates more connected and comfortable. For anyone needing a reliable, fuel-efficient sedan that doesn't feel basic, this MG 5 stands out as a versatile workhorse.

This Car vs Other 2023 MG 5s

With 73,000 km on the odometer, this sedan sits comfortably within the expected mileage range for a 3-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where 20,000–25,000 km per year is the standard. The silver finish is one of the most practical and sought-after colors in the local used market, known for its heat-deflecting properties and strong resale demand. While some examples might show higher wear from intense city use, this unit remains a well-balanced option for those looking for a relatively recent model year with a verified GCC history.

COMFORT vs Lower Trims

The Comfort trim is a significant step up from the base STD model, adding features that are essential for the GCC climate and modern driving. It upgrades the interior with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, rearview camera, and rear parking sensors, which make navigating tight mall parking lots effortless. Additionally, the Comfort trim typically includes cruise control and push-button start, features that add convenience to long highway drives between cities that the base trim often lacks.

MG 5 vs Segment Rivals

The MG 5 competes directly with the Toyota Yaris and Hyundai Accent but leads the pack when it comes to standard interior technology and cargo volume. Its 512-litre boot is one of the largest in the compact sedan class, easily outclassing many rivals and making it a better fit for families. While rivals offer similar reliability, the MG 5 provides a more premium cabin feel with its large touchscreen and smartphone integration at a significantly more accessible price point.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a major highlight, with a combined rating of approximately 5.5 L/100km, making it one of the most economical petrol cars for the daily Dubai-Sharjah commute. MG has established a robust authorized service network across the UAE and the wider Middle East, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km. While European sedans often see steeper depreciation, the MG 5 has shown resilient value retention in the GCC, often retaining around 65-70% of its value after the first three years.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine produces 114 hp and 150 Nm of torque, delivered through a smooth CVT that prioritizes fuel economy. It is perfectly suited for urban environments and steady highway cruising, reaching a top speed of 180 km/h. While it isn't a performance car, the front-wheel-drive setup and predictable handling make it a confident choice for navigating the multi-lane highways of the UAE during the summer heat.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for daily practicality, featuring a 5-seat layout with durable fabric upholstery that stays cooler in the extreme GCC summer than leather. The air conditioning system is built to handle local temperatures, supported by a spacious interior that offers generous legroom for a car of this size. Modern tech like the 10.1-inch display with Apple CarPlay ensures that navigation and entertainment are always at your fingertips during long drives.

Safety

Safety is well-covered for a compact sedan, featuring front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Brake Assist. It also includes Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), both of which are highly beneficial for maintaining control on fast-moving highways. Rear parking sensors and a rearview camera provide added peace of mind during everyday city maneuvers.

The bottom line

This 3-year-old MG 5 is the ideal opportunity for a professional or small family seeking a modern, tech-rich sedan with class-leading boot space and exceptional fuel economy at an unbeatable value.
