Summary

This 2023 Peugeot 3008 Active presents a compelling case for GCC buyers, offering a modern French design with just 30,000 km on the clock, which is considered low mileage for a 3-year-old vehicle in this region. The Active trim provides a sophisticated entry into the European SUV market, featuring the distinctive i-Cockpit layout that sets it apart from more conventional Japanese and Korean rivals. Its turbocharged powertrain is perfectly balanced for the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh while remaining efficient for inter-city highway commutes. For a buyer looking for a stylish family crossover that stands out in a mall parking lot without sacrificing daily practicality, this well-maintained example is a sharp choice.

This Car vs Other 2023 Peugeot 3008s

With only 30,000 km, this vehicle has averaged just 10,000 km per year, significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. This lower usage suggests less wear on the cooling system and suspension, which are critical components for longevity in the desert climate. While the 'Other' color exterior offers a unique alternative to the common white or silver, the car's low-mileage status remains its strongest value-retention factor in the local market.

ACTIVE vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim in the UAE, the Active provides essential premium features that GCC buyers value, including LED daytime running lights and the signature 12.3-inch digital head-up instrument panel. While higher trims add panoramic roofs or leather, the Active trim focuses on core technology like Apple CarPlay integration and rear parking sensors. It offers the same striking exterior silhouette and build quality as the flagship models at a more accessible entry point.

3008 vs Segment Rivals

The Peugeot 3008 competes directly with the Toyota RAV4 and Kia Sportage, leading with a far more avant-garde interior design and a 520-litre boot that outperforms many rivals in usable depth. Its 1.6-litre turbocharged engine provides more low-end torque than naturally aspirated competitors, making highway overtaking and merging onto fast-moving emirate roads smoother and more predictable.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 1.6T engine averages approximately 7.0 to 7.7 L/100km, offering excellent range from its 53-litre tank during long-distance drives across the UAE. Authorized service centers are well-established in major cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Jeddah, with recommended service intervals typically every 10,000 km or one year. In the GCC market, the 3008 experiences a moderate depreciation rate of roughly 15% annually after the initial three-year drop, holding its value well due to its continued popularity as a stylish city SUV.

Performance & Capability

The 1.6-litre turbocharged engine produces 165 hp and 240 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 8.9 seconds. This performance is well-suited for GCC highway conditions, providing enough power to maintain high cruising speeds comfortably. As a road-biased SUV, it offers 219 mm of ground clearance, which is ample for navigating speed bumps, sandy gravel patches, and urban obstacles commonly found across the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around Peugeot's i-Cockpit, featuring a compact steering wheel that enhances maneuverability in tight city parking. The 5-seat layout is spacious enough for young families, and the climate control system is specifically engineered to handle the extreme summer heat of the Gulf. Large windows and a high seating position provide excellent visibility, which is a major safety advantage when navigating busy multi-lane highways.

Safety

The 2023 3008 Active comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and Emergency Braking Assistance. Standard features like cruise control with a speed limiter and lane departure warnings are particularly beneficial for reducing driver fatigue during long desert highway drives. Its strong safety foundations make it a trusted choice for family-oriented buyers in the GCC.

The bottom line

For the urban professional or young family in the UAE, this low-mileage 2023 Peugeot 3008 Active offers European flair and turbocharged efficiency at a price point that makes it a highly sensible alternative to brand-new entry-level crossovers.
