Summary

This 2023 Toyota 4Runner Limited represents a compelling opportunity in the GCC market, offering exceptionally low mileage for its 3 years of age. While the exterior grey finish is a highly practical and heat-reflective choice for the region, the Limited trim elevates the rugged 4Runner platform with high-end luxury features often missing in lower trims. As a body-on-frame SUV, it stands out for its genuine off-road durability compared to car-based rivals, making it a favorite for weekend desert excursions. Ownership in the GCC is simplified by the massive support network for the brand, ensuring high resale confidence and easy parts availability from Dubai to Riyadh.

This Car vs Other 2023 4Runners

With just 7,781 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less distance than the typical 60,000–75,000 km expected of a 3-year-old SUV in the GCC. The grey exterior is a strong resale color in the local market, offering excellent heat management and hide-ability for dust. While this is an American spec vehicle, it provides a high-value entry point into a model year known for the inclusion of updated safety tech across the lineup.

LIMITED vs Lower Trims

The Limited trim is the most road-refined version of the 4Runner, adding essential GCC comforts like ventilated leather seats and a dual-zone climate control system that outperforms the manual units in the SR5. It also upgrades the audio experience to a premium 15-speaker JBL system and introduces a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor, making parking in tight city spaces far easier. Unlike the off-road oriented TRD trims, the Limited features a more sophisticated X-REAS sport enhancement suspension for better highway stability.

4Runner vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Honda Pilot or Ford Explorer, the 4Runner maintains a traditional body-on-frame construction, offering superior durability for those who actually intend to explore desert trails. It leads most monocoque rivals in raw towing capacity and specialized off-road hardware while maintaining a massive 85-litre fuel tank ideal for long-distance highway hauls between emirates. While rivals may offer more car-like handling, the Toyota’s legendary reliability and resale value remain unmatched in the GCC.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V6 typically averages around 12.5 to 14 L/100km in mixed GCC conditions, depending on how much time is spent in stop-start city traffic. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km, and Toyota’s authorized service network is the most extensive in the region, covering every major city in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The 4Runner is a top performer for value retention, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually, which is significantly better than its American or European segment competitors.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a robust 4.0-liter V6 delivering 270 hp, this SUV is engineered for consistent torque and long-term durability rather than raw sprint speed. Its 2,268 kg towing capacity makes it an excellent choice for hauling jet skis or small trailers for weekend trips. The selectable drive modes and high ground clearance allow it to transition seamlessly from high-speed highway cruising to soft sand trails without hesitation.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is designed with GCC summers in mind, featuring standard ventilated front seats and a powerful air conditioning system that is legendary for its cooling speed. The Limited trim replaces synthetic materials with genuine leather upholstery and adds wood-inspired interior accents for a more executive feel. Noise insulation is improved over lower trims, ensuring a quieter environment for the family during long drives across the border.

Safety

This trim comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense, including Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, and Automatic High Beams. Specifically useful for fast GCC highways are the standard Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, which provide vital assistance in multi-lane traffic. The inclusion of eight airbags and a 360-degree camera suite ensures comprehensive protection and visibility for all occupants.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants the legendary reliability of a 4Runner with the premium comforts of a luxury SUV, benefiting from a near-new mileage status that is rare for a 2023 model.
