Summary

This 2023 Toyota Hiace DLS High Roof is a high-utility investment for transport operators who prioritize mechanical longevity and low running costs. With its durable diesel powertrain and manual gearbox, it is built to handle the heavy-duty cycles common in regional logistics and shuttle services. The high-roof configuration offers significant interior volume, making it an ideal choice for corporate transport or school duties. Finished in white, the vehicle benefits from the region's strongest resale demand and superior heat reflection. For a buyer in the GCC, the unmatched availability of parts and specialized service centers makes this the most practical long-term workhorse in its class.

This Car vs Other 2023 Toyota Hiaces

At 42,000 km, this Hiace sits at a typical mileage for a commercial vehicle of its age, where annual usage in the GCC often reaches 30,000 km or more. The white exterior is the preferred choice for the local market, ensuring faster resale and better thermal management during summer. It represents a well-maintained example that has just cleared its initial break-in period, offering many years of service ahead.

DLS HIGH ROOF vs Lower Trims

The DLS High Roof trim significantly increases vertical cabin space compared to the standard roof variants, allowing for easier passenger movement and greater cargo stackability. While entry-level trims are often stripped for basic cargo use, this DLS configuration is better suited for passenger transport with its dedicated rear cooling vents and more accessible seating layout. These upgrades are highly valued in the GCC for hotel shuttles and executive staff transport.

Hiace vs Segment Rivals

The Hiace leads the segment in terms of mechanical simplicity and durability when compared to the Nissan Urvan or Ford Transit. Its rear-wheel-drive platform is engineered for heavy load handling on GCC highways, and its resale value consistently outperforms European rivals. The 70-litre fuel tank provides a substantial driving range, reducing downtime during long-distance inter-city trips across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel economy for this 2.5L diesel manual typically averages between 7.5 and 8.5L/100km depending on load, making it one of the most efficient high-capacity transporters in the region. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, though many GCC fleet operators opt for 5,000 km oil changes to combat the extreme heat and dust. With the largest authorized service network in the Middle East, maintenance is affordable and parts are available in every major city, contributing to its status as a high-retention asset.

Performance & Capability

The 136 hp diesel engine is tuned for high-torque delivery at low RPMs, ensuring steady acceleration even when the bus is at its full seating capacity. The manual transmission offers the driver total control over power delivery, which is essential for navigating steep inclines or heavy traffic with a full load. Its rear-wheel-drive configuration provides the necessary traction and stability for highway cruising and reliably handling the weight of 9+ passengers.

Comfort & Cabin

The High Roof design provides class-leading headroom, creating a far less cramped environment for passengers compared to standard vans. The cabin is equipped with a high-performance air conditioning system featuring dedicated rear vents, which is the single most important comfort feature for the GCC summer. Durable, easy-to-clean seat materials are standard, ensuring the interior remains professional and presentable even after years of high-frequency commercial use.

Safety

Standard safety features include dual front airbags and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to assist in emergency stopping under heavy loads. The 2023 model benefits from Toyota's reinforced frame design, which improved structural integrity over previous generations. Stability control and tire pressure monitoring are also included, providing essential assistance during long desert highway drives where high speeds and high temperatures put extra stress on vehicle components.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer seeking a durable, high-capacity passenger vehicle with the best resale potential in the market, this Hiace High Roof is the definitive choice. Its combination of diesel efficiency and the region's strongest service support makes it a risk-free investment for any commercial fleet.
