Summary

This 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser VXR is a prime example of why the model remains the definitive GCC status symbol, offering the highest luxury trim paired with the reliable 4.0L V6. At three years old, its mileage reflects a vehicle that has been regularly used for the long-distance highway travel these SUVs are built for, while the black exterior ensures high desirability and strong resale value in the local market. This VXR trim sets itself apart from lower models with high-end cabin technology and climate features that are essential for local summers. For any buyer in the region, the combination of legendary body-on-frame durability and the massive Toyota support network makes this a low-risk, high-reward investment.

This Car vs Other 2023 Land Cruisers

With 90,672 km on the odometer, this vehicle has seen typical use for a three-year-old GCC cruiser, where highway-heavy commutes between emirates are common. While many listings show lower city-driven mileage, a car with this history often benefits from consistent mechanical operation at optimal highway temperatures. The black exterior is a primary resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, often commanding a quicker sale and better price retention than more niche shades.

VXR vs Lower Trims

As the flagship of the 4.0L range, the VXR adds a layer of sophistication that lower GXR and EXR trims lack, most notably the 14-speaker JBL premium audio system and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. It significantly upgrades the GCC ownership experience with ventilated seats for both the front and second rows, ensuring all passengers remain cool during peak summer. You also gain advanced off-road hardware, including front and rear differential locks, which are often absent on the entry-level models.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

The Land Cruiser's primary rival is the Nissan Patrol, but the Toyota typically offers superior long-term resale value and a more extensive service network across smaller GCC towns. Its 110-litre fuel tank is specifically designed for the vast distances of the Arabian Peninsula, allowing for long-range travel without frequent stops. Additionally, the Toyota's air conditioning system is widely regarded by local owners as the most robust in the segment for maintaining cabin temperatures in 45-degree heat.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is a hallmark of reliability, typically returning a combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.6 L/100km in GCC conditions. Maintenance is straightforward with service intervals every 10,000 km, supported by the largest authorised network in the region spanning from the UAE to Oman and Kuwait. This model enjoys exceptional value retention, historically retaining 75% to 80% of its original purchase price after three years of ownership in the GCC market.

Performance & Capability

Under the hood, the 271 hp V6 provides smooth, linear power that is perfectly suited for high-speed highway overtaking and steady desert traversal. The VXR's sophisticated Multi-Terrain Select system and Crawl Control allow the driver to navigate soft sand and rocky wadis with absolute confidence. With a permanent four-wheel-drive system and a ground clearance of approximately 221 mm, it remains one of the most capable off-road vehicles available in the world today.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat cabin is a sanctuary of premium leather and walnut wood grain, designed to provide luxury during long cross-border road trips. A four-zone automatic climate control system ensures that even third-row passengers have dedicated cooling vents, a vital feature for family life in the region. The inclusion of an 11-inch rear-seat entertainment system keeps younger passengers occupied on long drives across the desert.

Safety

This VXR trim comes standard with a comprehensive ADAS suite including Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, and a Pre-Collision System. To assist with the massive footprint of the vehicle in tight urban parking, it features a 360-degree camera system and front and rear parking sensors. Passive safety is equally robust, with a full complement of dual front, knee, side, and curtain airbags protecting all three rows of occupants.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a family or executive seeking the prestige and reliability of a flagship Land Cruiser VXR that has been broken in for the GCC highways and is ready for years of dependable service.
