Summary

This 2023 Amarok is a standout opportunity, offering exceptionally low mileage for a GCC-based pickup. Finished in a practical and high-resale Grey, this Comfortline trim bridges the gap between a rugged site vehicle and a refined daily driver. It provides a more car-like interior than the Toyota Hilux while maintaining the heavy-duty towing and wading stats required for serious regional utility. With the turbocharged 2.3L petrol engine delivering a punchy 297 hp, it handles long-distance highway hauls between emirates with far more refinement than traditional diesel competitors. This is the ideal choice for a buyer who needs genuine truck capability without sacrificing modern cabin technology.

This Car vs Other 2023 Amaroks

With just 22,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less ground than the 25,000 km annual average typically seen in the GCC market. Its Grey exterior is a high-demand color in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring stronger value retention compared to bolder palettes. This low-mileage example presents a mechanical advantage, having bypassed the heavy wear often associated with high-use regional work trucks.

Comfortline vs Lower Trims

The Comfortline trim introduces key upgrades over the base Life model that are highly valued by GCC buyers, including LED fog lights and body-colored exterior accents for a more premium look. Inside, you benefit from upgraded seat materials and a larger digital cockpit interface that enhances the tech-forward feel of the cabin. It also includes the full Drive Mode Control system as standard, allowing for better management of sand and slippery surfaces common in regional driving.

Amarok vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Hilux and Mitsubishi L200, the Amarok offers a significantly more refined 10-speed automatic transmission and a cabin that feels closer to a premium SUV. Its 800 mm wading depth leads many in the mid-size segment, providing a safety margin during sudden regional flooding. The 2.3L petrol engine provides a smoother, quieter ride than the diesel units found in rivals, making it a better dual-purpose vehicle for family weekend trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption is official at approximately 9.9 L/100km, which is efficient for a truck of this power class during highway cruising. Volkswagen has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and the wider GCC, ensuring parts and maintenance are readily available. While Japanese rivals hold the top spot for value, the second-generation Amarok shows strong 3-year retention, typically holding around 75% of its value in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 297 hp turbocharged engine delivers a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 8.8 seconds, offering confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways. Its 3,500 kg braked towing capacity makes it one of the most capable haulers in its class, perfect for boats or heavy trailers. The 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system includes six modes, specifically optimized for sand, mud, and slippery conditions, ensuring it is as capable in the dunes as it is on the tarmac.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features a tablet-style 10-inch vertical infotainment display and an 8-inch digital cockpit as standard. Dual-zone climate control and dedicated rear vents are essential for the GCC summer, ensuring all five passengers remain cool in extreme temperatures. The increased wheelbase of this generation translates to improved rear legroom, making it a genuinely viable family vehicle for long road trips across the borders.

Safety

This Amarok is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety tech including Adaptive Cruise Control, which is invaluable for long desert highway drives. It features multiple airbags, Hill Descent Control for steep terrain, and electronic stability systems designed to manage heavy payloads. The high-strength chassis and modern ADAS platform provide a level of occupant protection that rivals the best in the SUV segment.

The bottom line

Perfect for the professional who needs a rugged workhorse during the week and a refined family cruiser for the weekend, this low-mileage GCC-spec Amarok is a rare find.
