Summary

This 2024 Avatr 07 Ultra represents the high-water mark for the brand’s mid-size SUV, offering a significant performance leap over the base trims with its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. In the competitive GCC market, its grey exterior is a highly desirable resale choice that maintains its appeal much better than bolder tones. As an EV backed by the Changan-Huawei-CATL partnership, it provides a unique tech-forward alternative to established premium brands, specifically designed for a digital-first ownership experience. For a two-year-old vehicle, this model remains at the cutting edge of battery technology and software integration. Buyers in the region will appreciate the balance of massive power and high-efficiency cooling systems essential for the local climate.

This Car vs Other 2024 Avatr 07s

At two years old, this Avatr 07 presents a strong buying case as it features the more advanced 800V architecture and CATL Shenxing battery technology that only recently entered the market. Its grey finish is one of the most stable resale colors in the GCC, ensuring it holds its value better than the green or purple variants. Compared to typical GCC annual usage, this model offers a high-tech platform that is mechanically simpler to maintain than equivalent petrol SUVs of the same age.

ULTRA vs Lower Trims

The Ultra trim is the flagship of the lineup, adding essential performance and luxury features that GCC buyers prioritize, such as the 25-speaker Meridian premium audio system and the dual 6.7-inch high-definition digital side mirror screens. It upgrades the driving experience with air suspension and Continuous Damping Control (CDC), which significantly improves ride quality on varied road surfaces compared to the standard steel-spring Pro models. Additionally, the Ultra includes the full Huawei ADS sensor suite, providing a more comprehensive safety and assistance package.

07 vs Segment Rivals

The Avatr 07 leads rivals like the Tesla Model Y and BYD Tang with its superior 800V charging platform, allowing for significantly faster top-ups at compatible high-speed chargers across the UAE. Its interior space is a major differentiator, offering a 35.4-inch 4K panoramic display that provides a more immersive cabin experience than the smaller, traditional screens found in European competitors. Furthermore, its 2,940 mm wheelbase provides class-leading rear legroom, making it more suitable for family use during long cross-emirate drives.

Running Costs & Resale

The Avatr 07 BEV delivers excellent efficiency with an average consumption of approximately 15.5 kWh/100km, making it highly cost-effective for daily commuting in stop-start Dubai traffic. Service intervals are typically 20,000 km, and with no internal combustion components in this BEV variant, long-term maintenance costs are substantially lower than petrol-powered rivals. While depreciation for new-energy brands in the GCC is slightly higher than for legacy Japanese brands, the Avatr 07 benefits from strong manufacturer backing, with authorized service centers expanding across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Performance & Capability

The 595 hp dual-motor system delivers a verified 0-100 km/h time of just 3.9 seconds, providing supercar-rivaling acceleration that makes highway overtaking effortless on the E11. The intelligent all-wheel-drive system and air suspension allow for adjustable ground clearance, helping the vehicle navigate steep parking ramps and light gravel tracks during weekend trips. It features multiple drive modes that optimize battery usage and steering weight, ensuring the car feels composed whether navigating tight city streets or cruising at high speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a standout in the segment, featuring zero-gravity ventilated front seats that are a necessity during the intense GCC summer months. A massive 35.4-inch 4K panoramic screen integrates seamlessly with the 15.6-inch central touchscreen, all running on Huawei’s HarmonyOS for a lag-free experience. High-quality acoustic glass and premium insulation ensure the interior remains a quiet sanctuary, effectively blocking out highway wind noise and external heat.

Safety

Safety is anchored by the Huawei ADS 3.0 system, which uses 27 high-precision sensors—including LiDAR—to provide a full L2+ driving assistance suite. Standard features include 360-degree cameras, blind-spot monitoring, and advanced emergency braking, which are particularly valuable on fast-moving, multi-lane highways. The Ultra trim also comes standard with nine airbags, including rare rear-side and front-distal airbags, earning it a 5-star rating in the latest safety protocols.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a blend of high-performance EV power and the latest Huawei-backed technology, this 2024 Ultra trim offers the most complete luxury SUV package currently available in the new-energy segment.
