Summary

This 2016 Lexus LX570 Prestige represents a major milestone for the model, featuring the first year of the 8-speed automatic transmission and the significant 'spindle grille' redesign. In the GCC market, the LX570 is a legendary asset, prized for its ability to combine genuine off-road hardware with a cabin that remains quiet even at 140 km/h. Black is a highly desirable color for this model in the region, ensuring better-than-average resale liquidity. While the mileage reflects a decade of consistent highway use between emirates, the 5.7L V8 is widely regarded as a 500,000 km engine when properly maintained. For the GCC buyer, this is a chance to own a flagship that handles summer heat and desert dunes with equal composure.

This Car vs Other 2016 LX570s

With 300,000 km over 10 years, this vehicle has averaged 30,000 km per year, which is typical for a primary family SUV in the GCC where long-distance commutes are standard. While higher than some weekend-only examples, this car benefits from the 2016 refresh's improved 8-speed gearbox, offering smoother shifts than earlier 6-speed models. The black exterior remains one of the top three resale colors in the UAE and Saudi markets.

PRESTIGE vs Lower Trims

The Prestige trim serves as a high-spec entry point that already includes features many rivals charge extra for, such as the 12.3-inch screen and Lexus Safety System+. It provides the essential GCC luxury suite including ventilated front seats and the highly-regarded 'Cool Box' center console refrigerator. Unlike base models in other markets, the GCC Prestige includes the full-size spare wheel and long-range fuel tank setup necessary for regional travel.

LX570 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Range Rover Vogue or Mercedes-Benz GLS, the LX570 offers superior reliability and a more robust body-on-frame construction that is better suited for frequent desert excursions. It holds its value significantly better in the GCC market than its European counterparts, largely due to the vast Lexus service network and parts availability. Its 138-liter total fuel capacity provides a highway range that outclasses most luxury crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.7L V8 is a thirsty powertrain, with real-world GCC consumption averaging around 16.5 to 20.0 L/100km depending on city traffic and desert use. However, these costs are offset by some of the lowest depreciation rates in the luxury SUV segment, typically retaining value far better than German rivals at the 10-year mark. Maintenance is straightforward with a massive authorized service network across every GCC country, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km.

Performance & Capability

The 381 hp V8 provides a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 7.9 seconds, but its true strength lies in its 530 Nm of torque, essential for pulling through heavy sand. The vehicle features a dedicated low-range transfer case and the Crawl Control system, which manages throttle and braking automatically in difficult terrain. Its 225 mm ground clearance and adjustable air suspension allow it to transition from a smooth highway cruiser to a capable desert explorer at the touch of a button.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a flagship 8-seat environment featuring four-zone climate control designed specifically to handle 50°C summer temperatures. GCC-essential features include ventilated seats to keep occupants cool and a 'Climate Concierge' system that synchronizes seat and steering wheel temperatures. The cabin is heavily insulated, providing a 'church-like' quietness that Lexus is famous for, even when cruising at high speeds on the E11.

Safety

Standard safety for this model year was significantly upgraded to include the Lexus Safety System+, featuring Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control which is perfect for long desert highway drives. It also features 10 airbags and a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor that is invaluable for parking such a large vehicle in tight urban spaces or navigating tricky off-road obstacles.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a buyer seeking the prestige and legendary durability of a refreshed LX570 at a significantly more accessible price point than low-mileage examples. It is a proven GCC workhorse that still offers the technology and presence of a modern flagship luxury SUV.
