Summary

This 2024 BMW M440i xDrive offers a sharp entry into the modern G22 generation, balancing daily refinement with genuine M-lite performance. Having covered 89,000 km in two years, its mileage reflects a typical long-distance UAE commuting cycle, often meaning more mechanical health than stop-start city cars of the same age. The Black exterior remains the most liquid color for resale in the GCC, ensuring it holds a premium position in the used market. As the xDrive variant, it provides significant high-speed stability on the UAE's multi-lane highways compared to the base rear-wheel-drive models. For the GCC buyer, this represents a chance to own a current-generation coupe that handles extreme summer heat and long hauls with ease.

This Car vs Other 2024 M440is

With a Vehicle Age of 2 years and 89,000 km, this car has been utilized for the kind of long-distance highway driving common between Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the Northern Emirates. While the mileage is higher than the global average, it sits within the expected range for a high-use executive commuter in the GCC market. The Black paintwork is a major advantage here, as it is a top-tier resale color in the region, consistently outperforming bolder shades when it comes time to trade in.

XDRIVE vs Lower Trims

The M440i xDrive sits significantly above the 430i, replacing the four-cylinder engine with the legendary B58 3.0-litre inline-six and adding standard all-wheel drive for superior traction. This trim includes the M Sport differential and M Sport brakes as standard, features that are highly valued by GCC enthusiasts for their high-speed composure. Inside, you benefit from the standard BMW Curved Display and M-specific interior touches that define the flagship 4 Series experience.

M440i vs Segment Rivals

The M440i xDrive is frequently cross-shopped with the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 and the Audi S5 Coupe. It leads the segment in terms of engine character and chassis balance, offering a more driver-centric feel than the Audi while maintaining a more aggressive aesthetic than the Mercedes. Its 59-litre fuel tank and efficient 48V mild-hybrid system make it a superior choice for the long-distance drives typical of the Saudi or UAE road networks.

Running Costs & Resale

The B58 engine is highly regarded in the GCC for its reliability under heat stress, with real-world combined fuel consumption averaging around 7.7 L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 to 12,000 km at authorized BMW centers, which are extensively available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. While European coupes generally depreciate faster than Japanese rivals, the 4 Series Coupe maintains approximately 60% of its value over three years in the GCC, making it one of the more stable investments in its class.

Performance & Capability

With a 0–100 km/h sprint of 4.4 seconds, the M440i xDrive delivers the kind of punch required for effortless overtaking on the E11 or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system ensures the 500 Nm of torque is translated into forward motion without drama, even on dusty or uneven road surfaces. Variable sport steering and the 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission allow you to toggle between a relaxed cruiser and a sharp cornering machine via selectable drive modes.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 4-seater layout featuring standard sport seats and the expansive 14.9-inch BMW Curved Display running the latest iDrive system. BMW’s climate control systems are specifically tuned for the GCC, providing rapid cabin cooling even in 45°C temperatures, while standard acoustic glazing keeps the interior quiet during high-speed highway travel. The 440-litre boot space is surprisingly practical, making this coupe a viable car for weekend trips across the border.

Safety

The M440i comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including Forward Collision Warning with automatic braking, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind Spot Detection—essential for navigating the fast-moving multi-lane traffic of Dubai and Riyadh. The xDrive system itself acts as a safety feature, providing mechanical stability in sudden maneuvers. Additionally, front and rear parking sensors and a high-resolution camera system are standard, assisting with visibility in tight urban parking scenarios.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants the performance of an M-car with the daily usability and warranty-friendly reliability of a standard BMW, this GCC-spec M440i xDrive is the ideal choice. It offers the best resale color and the most desirable powertrain in the 4 Series lineup, ready for immediate enjoyment on the UAE's open roads.
