At first, only the coupe and convertible models are available and are larger and wider than the outgoing 3-series models, and have specific cuts around the front wheel arches which funnel air to reduce drag. Standard features consist of leather upholstery, power seats, media system with CD and media inputs and Bluetooth. Optional packages add 360-degree camera, heads-up display, parking sensors front and back, ventilated seats, memory seats and driving assistant plus.
2015 added the 435i Gran Coupe and others were added to the line up. Standard features here include power accessories, power steering, leather seats, A/C and a stereo system with media inputs. Much like the other models, navigation, Bluetooth, sunroof, heads-up display and parking sensors are all optional extras. Standard safety features include driver and side airbags, stability control and ABS.

As the M3 coupe and convertible is dropped from the BMW lineup, in its wake is the BMW M4 coupe (no convertible replacement). Powered by 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder petrol motor powering the rear wheels. Rated at 431 horsepower either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed auto/manual enables the vehicle to zip from 0-100 km/h in just over four seconds.
M models feature all the top trim specs including parking sensors, keyless entry, cooled seats, heads-up display and reverse camera. Optional extras include blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, side cameras and autonomous braking.
