Cadillac Escalade SPORT

Highlights

• 420 hp from a 6.2-liter V8
• 722 litres boot space behind the third row
• 38-inch curved OLED display standard

Summary

This 2024 Cadillac Escalade Sport is a compelling buy, offering exceptionally low mileage for a two-year-old vehicle in the GCC market, where luxury SUVs typically cover much higher annual distances. The black-on-black Sport trim aesthetics are highly sought after in the region, ensuring significantly stronger resale demand compared to lighter color combinations. It stands out in the segment for its unmatched combination of a massive 6.2L V8 powertrain and class-leading digital cabin tech. For a GCC buyer, the most important consideration is the balance of zero-compromise road presence and a cooling system specifically designed to handle extreme desert temperatures. This GCC-spec example provides the peace of mind of local dealer support and full compatibility with regional fuel grades.

This Car vs Other 2024 Escalades

With just 19,600 km on the odometer, this Escalade is significantly below the typical 40,000–50,000 km expected for a two-year-old vehicle in the GCC. The Black exterior is the most popular and liquid color for this model in the UAE and Saudi markets, providing a distinct advantage at trade-in time. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a valuation premium over imported North American units that may lack regional warranty or optimized cooling.

SPORT vs Lower Trims

The Sport trim upgrades the Escalade from the Luxury base with essential GCC-favored features including Magnetic Ride Control for superior highway stability and an electronic limited-slip differential. Visually, it replaces traditional chrome with a Gloss Black mesh grille, black roof rails, and darkened 22-inch wheels. Inside, it adds the full-color Head-Up Display and ventilated front seats, which are critical for comfort during the Gulf summer months.

Escalade vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Lexus LX600 and Lincoln Navigator, the Escalade leads with a massive 38-inch curved OLED dashboard that offers superior clarity and tech integration. Its 6.2L V8 provides a linear power delivery that many GCC buyers prefer over the turbocharged V6 setups found in rivals. Additionally, the Escalade offers a more generous 722-liter boot capacity even with the third row in place, making it the preferred choice for family road trips between emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 6.2L V8 averages around 15.0 L/100km combined, though GCC city traffic can see this rise to 16.6 L/100km. Cadillac’s GCC service network, managed by major distributors like Al Ghandi and Aljomaih, is extensive, with service intervals typically every 10,000 km. The Escalade holds its value well in the local market, typically seeing 12-15% annual depreciation, which is competitive for the large luxury SUV segment.

Performance & Capability

The 420 hp V8 engine delivers a 0–100 km/h time of approximately 5.8 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on high-speed desert highways. The 10-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth shifts, and the Magnetic Ride Control monitors the road 1,000 times per second to iron out imperfections. While road-biased, the All-Wheel Drive system and selectable drive modes provide confident traction for weekend visits to desert campsites or gravel tracks.

Comfort & Cabin

This 8-seater configuration offers massive interior volume with dedicated rear-seat climate zones and vents to ensure all passengers stay cool in 45°C+ heat. The cabin is exceptionally quiet thanks to acoustic laminated glass and active noise cancellation, creating a serene environment for long-distance cruising. The AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system provides immersive sound, while the ventilated seats and panoramic sunroof enhance the premium feel.

Safety

The 2024 Escalade Sport comes standard with the Cadillac Smart System, including Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, and Lane Keep Assist. In the fast-paced highway environment of the GCC, the standard Blind Zone Steering Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are invaluable tools. The 360-degree HD Surround Vision camera makes parking this large SUV in tight city malls effortless.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a GCC buyer seeking a near-new, high-spec Escalade Sport that bypasses the steepest initial depreciation while maintaining low mileage. Its blacked-out aesthetic and GCC-spec pedigree make it one of the most bankable luxury SUV investments currently available.
