Summary

This 2024 Exeed RX in the Comfort trim represents a sophisticated entry into the premium SUV segment, balancing modern design with high-end tech. With a mileage of 59,500 km over two years, it has been driven slightly more than the average for the UAE market, yet remains within a healthy operational range for a long-distance cruiser. The black exterior is a highly sought-after resale color in the GCC, ensuring it holds its value better than more unconventional shades. As a flagship-level brand under the Chery group, the RX stands out for its futuristic aesthetics and refined cabin quality compared to mainstream rivals. This is an ideal opportunity for a buyer seeking a near-new premium SUV experience with a robust local warranty still in effect.

This Car vs Other 2024 RXs

At 59,500 km, this vehicle's usage reflects the typical high-mileage highway lifestyle of the GCC, averaging roughly 30,000 km per year. While higher than some low-use examples, this often means the car has spent most of its life at stable highway speeds, which is mechanically preferable to the stop-start wear of city-only vehicles. The black paint is a premier choice for the local used market, significantly strengthening its resale appeal compared to niche colors.

COMFORT vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim for the RX line, the Comfort trim is surprisingly well-equipped, featuring a panoramic sunroof and a large curved digital display that many rivals only offer on top-tier variants. It provides the essential premium experience with leather-trimmed electric seats and a comprehensive safety suite including 8 airbags. While it moves to front-wheel drive, it retains the powerful 261 hp engine found in the highest specs, ensuring no loss in highway overtaking capability.

RX vs Segment Rivals

The Exeed RX competes directly with the Geely Monjaro and Changan UNI-K, leading with a more daring 'coupe-SUV' silhouette that won international design awards. Its 2.0TGDI engine delivers 400 Nm of torque, giving it a performance edge over several naturally aspirated Japanese crossovers in this price bracket. Additionally, the RX offers superior cabin insulation and acoustic glass, a critical advantage during the noisy, high-speed commutes common between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 2.0T powertrain typically ranges between 7.6 and 9.9 L/100km, depending on the balance between open highway cruising and heavy city traffic. Authorized service centers are well-established across the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, typically requiring maintenance every 10,000 km. The car benefits from a highly competitive 7-year/200,000 km regional warranty, which significantly protects the second owner from depreciation risks compared to non-warrantied imports.

Performance & Capability

The RX generates an impressive 261 hp, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 8.8 seconds, providing confident power for the fast-moving multi-lane highways of the Emirates. With a ground clearance of 187 mm, it easily handles sand-drifted roads and gravel tracks leading to weekend getaway spots. The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is tuned for smooth shifts, ensuring a relaxed driving experience even during the peak heat of a GCC summer.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around the 'Art of Technology' concept, featuring a 24.6-inch curved dual-screen setup that acts as the vehicle’s command center. For the GCC climate, the air conditioning system is robust and complemented by rear cooling vents to ensure all five passengers remain comfortable in temperatures exceeding 45°C. The 500-liter boot provides ample space for family airport runs or grocery trips, and the panoramic sunroof includes a high-quality shade to block out intense midday sun.

Safety

Safety is a primary pillar for the RX, which carries a 5-star C-NCAP safety rating and utilizes 85% high-strength steel in its construction. This trim includes 8 airbags as standard, including side curtain and knee protection, which is a higher count than many entry-level premium rivals. It also features essential driver assistance systems like electronic stability control and a 360-degree camera system, providing vital visibility in tight urban parking scenarios.

The bottom line

For the tech-forward buyer who wants a luxury aesthetic and a long-term warranty without the price tag of a European badge, this black RX is a high-spec, high-value choice.
