Summary

This 2024 GAC GS3 GS represents a savvy entry point into the modern crossover market, offering a sharp design and high efficiency for daily GCC commuting. With just under 37,000 km, its mileage is average for a year-old vehicle in the region, suggesting it has been primarily used for typical highway-heavy UAE travel. The bold red exterior is a high-visibility choice that helps maintain a distinct presence on the road while following the brand's current design language. For the GCC buyer, this model stands out for its balance of current-year technology and a reliable 1.5L powertrain that is well-suited for stop-start city traffic. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it provides essential peace of mind regarding climate suitability and authorized service center support across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2024 GAC GS3s

With 36,836 km on the odometer, this GS3 sits at a standard usage level for the GCC market, where annual averages often reach 30,000 km due to inter-emirate highway travel. The vibrant red finish is a popular alternative to the region's sea of white and silver, offering a more personalized aesthetic that retains solid resale interest. Buying a 2024 model second-hand allows you to benefit from the steepest part of the new-car depreciation curve while still owning the latest generation design.

GS vs Lower Trims

The GS trim serves as a well-rounded package that includes the core digital experience GCC buyers expect, specifically the 10.25-inch central touchscreen. While higher trims like the Premium R add styling accents and larger wheels, the GS maintains the same efficient 1.5L powertrain and essential safety tech. It provides the full modern cabin layout, including Apple CarPlay and a digital instrument cluster, without the added cost of top-tier cosmetic packages.

GS3 vs Segment Rivals

The GS3 competes directly with the MG ZS and Geely Coolray, distinguishing itself with a highly competitive official fuel economy of 5.9 L/100km. Its interior space is noted for being on par with top rivals, offering a 341-liter boot that expands significantly with flat-folding rear seats for weekend errands. For the GCC driver, GAC's growing regional footprint ensures that parts and service availability are increasingly robust compared to some newer market entrants.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 1.5L engine remains impressive in GCC conditions, typically hovering around 6.5-7.2 L/100km in heavy city traffic. GAC vehicles in the UAE and Saudi Arabia typically see a 3-year value retention of approximately 40-60%, aligning with other established mid-range brands in the region. Service intervals are standardized at every 10,000 km or 6 months, supported by a growing network of authorized centers including Al Gargash in the UAE and Aljomaih in Saudi Arabia.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L engine delivers 100 hp and is optimized for smooth, linear power delivery during urban commutes and steady highway cruising between cities. It features a selectable drive mode system including Eco, Comfort, and Sport, allowing you to tailor the throttle response to current traffic conditions. The front-wheel-drive platform and 180 mm ground clearance make it perfectly capable of handling gravel tracks or the occasional sandy patch found in developing suburban areas.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the high-temperature GCC climate, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated controls integrated into the 10.25-inch display. The five-seat layout offers generous legroom for a subcompact crossover, making it a viable choice for small families or young professionals. Acoustic insulation is tuned to provide a quiet environment on long desert highway stretches, complemented by a 4-speaker audio system and seamless smartphone integration.

Safety

Safety is a priority for the GS3, which secured a full 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating under the stringent 2021-2025 protocols. This GS trim comes standard with essential electronic aids including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and a direct Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) which is vital for safe highway travel in extreme heat. Passive safety is managed by a robust airbag system and ISOFIX anchors, ensuring high-level protection for all five occupants during daily GCC transit.

The bottom line

For the UAE buyer seeking a 2024 crossover that balances futuristic styling with excellent fuel economy, this GCC-spec GS3 is a practical and tech-forward choice. It offers the benefits of current-year ownership and a clean regional history, making it a reliable daily driver for the busy professional.
