Summary

This 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom Sport Plus is a tech-forward crossover that stands out in the competitive GCC compact SUV market with its sharp, mecha-inspired styling and impressive performance. With only 35,330 km, it has been driven slightly above average for its 2 years in the UAE, yet it remains in peak mechanical shape with the balance of GAC's extensive warranty. The Sport Plus trim is the most desirable variant, featuring 19-inch wheels and a full suite of Level 2 semi-autonomous driving tech. Its 1.5-litre turbocharged engine delivers a punchy 174 hp, making it more spirited than many traditional rivals while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency for daily city commutes. For a buyer looking for a modern, high-spec vehicle that handles the summer heat with ventilated seats and a robust AC system, this is an excellent opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2024 GS3 Emzooms

At 35,330 km over 2 years, this GS3 has covered roughly 17,500 km per year, which is lower than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen across the UAE. This lower-than-average usage for the region translates to less wear on the suspension and interior. The Blue exterior is a vibrant, modern choice that highlights the car's aggressive geometric lines and holds stable resale value among younger GCC buyers.

SPORT PLUS vs Lower Trims

The Sport Plus trim adds significant premium features over the GB and GL Plus models, most notably the larger 19-inch alloy wheels and the aggressive 'R-Style' exterior kit with orange accents. Inside, you get a significant tech boost with the 360° surround-view camera, fully automated parking assist, and ventilated front seats—a vital feature for GCC summers. It also includes the full ADAS safety package and a power tailgate that aren't standard on the base trims.

GS3 Emzoom vs Segment Rivals

The GS3 Emzoom primarily competes with the Geely Coolray and MG ZS, leading the group with its 270 Nm of torque which provides better low-end pull for highway overtaking. Unlike some rivals that use 3-cylinder engines, GAC's 4-cylinder powerplant offers smoother idle and vibration-free performance in stop-start traffic. It also features a wider 1,850 mm body, providing more shoulder room for passengers compared to the Toyota Yaris Cross.

Running Costs & Resale

The GS3 Emzoom is highly efficient, achieving a manufacturer-rated 18.3 km/L, which helps lower monthly fuel bills even with frequent cross-emirate trips. Service intervals are standard for the region at every 10,000 km, with a growing authorized network managed by Gargash across the UAE. Chinese brands are currently seeing improved value retention in the GCC market as their reliability reputation grows, typically depreciating around 12–15% annually.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre turbo engine delivers a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 8.0 seconds, making it one of the quickest non-premium crossovers in its class. Power is managed by a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission designed to handle the high thermal loads of Middle Eastern summers more reliably than dry-clutch equivalents. With multiple drive modes including a 'Sport+' setting, it provides a dynamic driving experience suitable for both tight city maneuvers and stable highway cruising at 140 km/h.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features a 5-seat layout with a near-flat rear floor, maximizing legroom for adult passengers. This Sport Plus trim comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof featuring an electric sunshade to block the afternoon heat and ventilated front seats for year-round comfort. Storage is a strong point, with 341 litres of boot space that expands to 1,271 litres with the rear seats folded, and a dual-level cargo floor for added versatility.

Safety

Safety is a priority in this trim, which includes a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite featuring Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, and Automatic Emergency Braking. These systems are particularly useful on fast-moving UAE highways like Sheikh Zayed Road, providing an extra layer of protection. The car is also equipped with six airbags, Lane Keep Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition as standard, ensuring a high level of occupant protection for both city and long-distance driving.

The bottom line

This 2-year-old GS3 Emzoom Sport Plus is the perfect choice for a tech-savvy professional or a small family wanting a high-spec, fuel-efficient SUV that looks like nothing else on the road. With its low mileage and balance of manufacturer support, it represents a smart alternative to more expensive Japanese rivals.
