Summary

This 2024 Geely Monjaro GF PLUS offers a premium SUV experience that rivals luxury European benchmarks at a far more accessible point in its lifecycle. Having covered 65,153 km, its mileage is exactly where we expect for a two-year-old GCC vehicle used for typical highway commuting. The Blue exterior is a sought-after launch color that maintains strong desirability and resale appeal across the UAE and Saudi markets. As the flagship GF PLUS trim, it stands out with a triple-screen digital cockpit and superior materials often missing in entry-level crossovers. For the GCC buyer, the most important factor is the peace of mind provided by a 4WD system and a cabin designed for high-temperature comfort.

This Car vs Other 2024 Monjaros

At 65,153 km, this Monjaro sits within the average range for two years of ownership in the GCC, where annual distances of 30,000 km are common due to inter-city travel. Many 2024 models on the market are low-mileage weekend cars, but this example represents a proven, well-settled daily driver. The Blue finish is particularly strong for resale compared to standard white or silver, as it was the hero color for the flagship launch.

GF PLUS vs Lower Trims

The GF PLUS is the definitive flagship, adding features that make a massive difference in the GCC climate, such as ventilated front seats and a three-zone automatic climate control system. Unlike the base GK trim, it features the stunning 'IMAX' triple-screen dashboard and a 25.6-inch Head-Up Display. It also upgrades the audio experience with a premium 10-speaker system and provides 540-degree surround-view visibility for easier parking in tight urban spaces.

Monjaro vs Segment Rivals

The Monjaro leads rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V by offering a significantly more powerful 2.0L turbocharged engine and a much richer cabin environment. While competitors rely on CVT gearboxes, the Geely uses a sophisticated 8-speed automatic that provides a more refined highway cruise. It offers a larger 2845 mm wheelbase, ensuring superior rear legroom for family road trips compared to most mid-size SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0T engine delivers real-world fuel consumption of approximately 11.9 km/L, which is efficient for an all-wheel-drive SUV of this size. Service intervals are typically scheduled every 10,000 km, with authorized centers like AGMC in the UAE and Wallan in Saudi Arabia providing extensive regional support. While initial depreciation for Chinese brands is higher than for Japanese makes, the Monjaro’s high equipment level keeps it in high demand on the used market.

Performance & Capability

With a 0–100 km/h time of 7.7 seconds, the Monjaro provides confident acceleration for merging onto fast-moving highways like E11. The BorgWarner 4WD system offers selectable drive modes, including Snow and Off-road, making it capable of handling sandy service roads and weekend desert trails. Its 235 hp output ensures it never feels underpowered, even when fully loaded with five passengers and gear.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a standout feature, featuring a triple-screen layout that covers almost the entire dashboard. Front occupants benefit from 12-way power-adjustable seats with cooling ventilation, an essential for the 45°C+ summer months in the GCC. Rear passengers enjoy a spacious 562-liter boot and dedicated AC vents, ensuring the entire family remains comfortable on long drives across the Emirates.

Safety

This flagship trim includes a full ADAS suite with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist, which are invaluable for long desert highway stretches. Standard safety features include six airbags, Blind Spot Detection, and Front/Rear Collision Warnings. The 540-degree camera system (including a transparent chassis view) provides unparalleled visibility when navigating busy city traffic or parking in narrow mall bays.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants flagship European technology and interior quality at a used-car price, this GF PLUS is the smartest opportunity in the current market. It is a well-maintained, high-spec SUV that handles the unique demands of GCC driving with ease.
