Summary

This 2024 Honda City LX Sport is a compelling choice for GCC commuters, offering incredibly low mileage that averages less than half the typical annual distance for the region. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the local climate, known for its strong resale demand and ability to hide dust during sandstorms. As the top-tier trim, the LX Sport elevates the City from a basic commuter to a tech-forward sedan with premium styling accents usually reserved for larger models. For buyers in the UAE and wider Gulf, this car offers the perfect balance of legendary Japanese reliability and modern daily-driver comfort.

This Car vs Other 2024 Honda Citys

With just 24,044 km on the odometer, this City has been driven significantly less than the typical 30,000–35,000 km usually seen on year-old cars in the GCC. The Modern Steel Grey paint is a strategic advantage for resale, consistently ranking as one of the top three most-wanted colors in the UAE used market. Choosing this specific 2024 unit means you are getting a vehicle that is mechanically near-new but has already cleared the steepest part of its initial depreciation curve.

LX SPORT vs Lower Trims

The LX Sport stands out from the base DX and mid-range LX trims with distinct blacked-out aesthetic upgrades, including a black mesh grille, sporty black door mirrors, and a rear decklid spoiler. Inside, you get the advanced 8-inch touchscreen display with full smartphone connectivity, which is a major upgrade over the basic audio units in lower specs. This trim also adds essential GCC features like paddle shifters for better highway control and 16-inch black alloy wheels that provide a more stable, premium footprint.

Honda City vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Yaris and Nissan Sunny, the Honda City leads the segment with its class-leading 510-litre boot, providing significantly more cargo room for family airport runs or grocery trips. Its 1.5L i-VTEC engine offers a more refined power delivery than the smaller units in the Yaris, while maintaining a competitive fuel economy that rivals hybrid-level efficiency. The City's interior also uses higher-grade plastics and fabrics compared to the more utility-focused Sunny, making it the more executive choice in the compact segment.

Running Costs & Resale

The City delivers an exceptional manufacturer-claimed 4.7 L/100km, which translates to massive savings during long-distance commutes between emirates like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by one of the most robust authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. Resale value remains among the highest in the category, with GCC-spec Hondas historically retaining more value after three years than their European or American counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine produces a reliable 119 hp, allowing for a top speed of 190 km/h that feels confident on fast-moving multi-lane highways. The CVT transmission is specifically tuned for smoothness, eliminating the gear-shift lag found in traditional automatics during stop-start city traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. While it is built for efficiency, the ECON mode helps maximize your range, ensuring you spend less time at the fuel station and more time on the road.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed to combat the extreme GCC heat with a powerful automatic air conditioning system that includes dedicated rear cooling vents—a feature often missing in this segment. The five-seat layout offers surprising legroom that mimics larger sedans, comfortably accommodating a full family for long cross-border drives. Acoustic insulation has been improved in this generation, providing a quieter environment that protects passengers from highway wind noise and city hustle.

Safety

Standard safety for the LX Sport includes a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and rear parking sensors, which are vital for maneuvering in tight urban parking structures. The car is built on Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, providing enhanced protection in highway collisions. You also benefit from a full suite of electronic aids, including Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, all of which are essential for maintaining control on sandy or heat-slicked road surfaces.

The bottom line

This 2024 LX Sport is the ideal opportunity for a buyer seeking a nearly-new, high-spec sedan that offers the best fuel economy in its class without sacrificing modern tech or cargo space. It is a smart, low-risk investment for any GCC resident who values long-term reliability and high resale potential.
