Summary

This 2024 model presents a significant opportunity for buyers looking for a nearly-new vehicle with mileage under 30,000 km, well below the typical GCC annual average. The LX Sport trim adds desirable aesthetic and convenience features that specifically enhance resale value, such as blacked-out exterior accents and upgraded tech. In a segment where efficiency is king, the City stands out with class-leading cargo capacity and refined highway manners. Silver remains one of the most practical and high-demand colors for the GCC market, offering excellent heat reflection and long-term paint durability. For anyone commuting between emirates or navigating dense city traffic, this sedan offers a perfect balance of reliability and modern tech.

This Car vs Other 2024 Honda Citys

With just under 30,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven less than the typical 25,000 km annual average for the UAE, making it a low-mileage example for its year. The Silver exterior is a premier choice for the region, known for maintaining a cleaner appearance during dust storms and securing the highest resale interest in the used market. Choosing a GCC-spec 2024 model ensures full compatibility with local fuel grades and air conditioning requirements compared to imported alternatives.

LX SPORT vs Lower Trims

The LX Sport trim elevates the City above the base DX and mid-range LX trims with distinct black mesh styling, a sporty trunk spoiler, and 16-inch black alloy wheels. Inside, it upgrades the experience with an 8-inch touchscreen display featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a remote engine starter—an essential for pre-cooling the cabin during GCC summers. You also benefit from paddle shifters and rear parking sensors that are not standard on entry-level models.

Honda City vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Yaris and Nissan Sunny, the Honda City leads with a superior 506-litre boot capacity and a more refined i-VTEC engine that offers better highway overtaking power. While rivals focus heavily on utility, the City provides a more sophisticated 'big car' feel with rear legroom that rivals sedans in the segment above. Its fuel efficiency remains a primary advantage, consistently outperforming the Sunny in real-world combined cycles.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating costs are among the lowest in the sedan segment, with a manufacturer-claimed economy of 4.7 L/100km, which translates to significant savings for long-distance commuters. Service intervals are typically set at 10,000 km, and Honda’s extensive network of authorized centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures parts are always readily available. The City enjoys some of the strongest value retention in the GCC, typically depreciating at a slower rate than European competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine produces a verified 119 horsepower, which is delivered smoothly through a locally-tuned CVT for better response in stop-start traffic. It reaches a top speed of 190 km/h and handles highway cruising with more stability than most subcompact sedans. The Front Wheel Drive setup is optimized for urban efficiency, providing a tight turning circle that makes navigating tight mall parking and city side-streets effortless.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the Gulf climate, featuring high-output air conditioning with dedicated rear AC vents to ensure all five passengers stay cool. The LX Sport’s fabric seating is more breathable than leather in extreme heat, while the acoustic hood helps reduce road noise during high-speed highway travel. Rear passengers benefit from class-leading legroom, making it a viable primary vehicle for small families or executive commuting.

Safety

Safety is managed through Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, complemented by dual SRS airbags and a suite of active systems. Standard features include Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist to prevent rolling on inclines, and an Emergency Stop Signal. For high-speed highway safety, the LX Sport also includes Cruise Control and a multi-angle rearview camera to eliminate blind spots when reversing.

The bottom line

This 2024 LX Sport is the ideal choice for a value-conscious buyer who wants a new-car feel with the immediate savings of a used listing. It represents the best of Honda’s reliability in a trim that doesn't compromise on modern smartphone tech or curb appeal.
