Summary

This two-year-old Infiniti QX55 stands out in the GCC market as a stylish alternative to traditional luxury SUVs, offering a distinctive coupe-like silhouette without the typical premium price tag of its German rivals. With 44,260 km, its mileage sits perfectly within the expected range for a high-use region like the UAE, suggesting a history of consistent highway driving which these engines favor. The Essential trim is the sweet spot for local buyers, providing critical high-heat comforts like climate-controlled seats that are often optional on base models. This specific Blue exterior is a sophisticated choice that maintains strong appeal in a market dominated by grayscale tones. For those seeking a blend of Japanese reliability and avant-garde design, this QX55 offers a compelling case for both daily commuting and weekend travel.

This Car vs Other 2024 QX55s

At 44,260 km, this vehicle's mileage is very standard for a two-year-old car in the GCC, where the average annual commute often exceeds 20,000 km. It has been driven enough to ensure the mechanical systems remain lubricated and healthy, while still being fresh enough to retain that new-car tight feel. The Blue finish is a premium alternative to the common white or silver, offering better visibility in desert glare and helping the car stand out in a crowded resale market.

ESSENTIAL vs Lower Trims

The Essential trim provides a significant technology leap over the entry-level Luxe model, most notably adding the 16-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system and the Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection. For the GCC climate, the most important upgrade is the climate-controlled front seats (ventilated and heated), which are essential for comfort during the peak summer months. It also features upgraded Cube-design LED headlights with auto-leveling for better nighttime visibility on unlit desert highways.

QX55 vs Segment Rivals

The Infiniti QX55 is cross-shopped against the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, where it leads on value-for-money regarding standard equipment. It features a unique Variable Compression Turbo (VC-Turbo) engine that balances performance and efficiency more dynamically than the fixed-ratio engines in its European competitors. Additionally, the QX55 offers a more generous cargo capacity behind the second row compared to many other coupe-styled crossovers in this class.

Running Costs & Resale

The VC-Turbo engine delivers a combined fuel economy of approximately 8.1 L/100km, making it efficient for long-distance cruising between Emirates. Infiniti enjoys an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts availability and specialized maintenance are never an issue. While European luxury brands often face steeper depreciation, Infiniti typically retains around 60-65% of its value at the three-year mark in the GCC, benefiting from its Japanese engineering reputation.

Performance & Capability

Generating 268 hp and 380 Nm of torque, the QX55 offers plenty of punch for overtaking at highway speeds. The Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system, though not intended for deep dune bashing, provides excellent stability on gravel roads and during the occasional heavy rain in the UAE. The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is tuned to maximize fuel efficiency during city traffic, providing a smooth and linear power delivery that eliminates the jerkiness of traditional gear shifts.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around a dual-screen infotainment system that keeps navigation and media controls separate for easier use while driving. High-quality leather upholstery and an acoustic glass windshield ensure a quiet environment, insulating passengers from both desert heat and wind noise during high-speed travel. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated air conditioning vents, a mandatory feature for family comfort in the Gulf region.

Safety

This Essential trim comes standard with a full suite of driver-assist technologies including ProPILOT Assist, which helps with steering and braking during long highway journeys. The 360-degree Around View Monitor is particularly useful for navigating tight parking spots in major malls, while Blind Spot Warning and Forward Emergency Braking provide an extra layer of protection in fast-moving urban traffic. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Lane Departure Warning are also included to ensure comprehensive 360-degree awareness.

The bottom line

Perfect for the professional who wants the prestige of a luxury brand with the reliability of Japanese engineering, this well-maintained QX55 offers a high-spec cabin and head-turning style at a competitive price point.
