Summary

This 2024 JAC JS4 Intelligence is a standout choice for city-dwellers seeking modern tech at a sensible price point. With just over 50,000 km, it sits right in the sweet spot for a two-year-old GCC vehicle, having bypassed the steepest part of its initial depreciation curve. The crisp White exterior is the most sought-after color for resale in the region, offering superior heat reflection and market liquidity. As the top-tier trim, it bridges the gap between budget crossovers and luxury segments, offering a cabin experience that rivals more expensive Japanese and Korean competitors. For the UAE and wider GCC market, this remains one of the most cost-effective ways to access a high-tech daily driver with full authorized service support.

This Car vs Other 2024 JS4s

At 53,725 km, this JS4 has seen slightly higher than average annual use for a subcompact crossover, though it remains well within the expected range for inter-emirate highway commuting. Its White paintwork is a significant buying advantage in the GCC, as it retains value better than darker shades and handles the intense summer sun more effectively. This specific Intelligence trim is more desirable than base models currently on the market, as it carries the complete suite of visual and technical upgrades that secondary buyers prioritize.

Intelligence vs Lower Trims

The Intelligence trim represents a significant upgrade over the Deluxe and Luxury variants, most notably through the inclusion of the 360° panoramic camera system and a larger 10.25-inch full digital cockpit. While lower trims often stick to basic safety, the Intelligence adds advanced driver assistance features such as Blind Spot Detection and Lane Departure Warning. You also benefit from a premium 6-speaker audio system and soft-touch artificial leather upholstery that provides a much more refined interior feel than the entry-level fabric options.

JS4 vs Segment Rivals

The JS4 is frequently cross-shopped with the Nissan Kicks and MG ZS, leading the pack in terms of standard digital real estate and boot capacity, which stands at a generous 520 litres. While rivals often charge extra for tech, the JS4 Intelligence includes features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard equipment. Its 1.5L turbocharged engine offers a more modern power delivery compared to the naturally aspirated units found in some entry-level Japanese competitors, making it feel more responsive in fast-moving Dubai or Riyadh traffic.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy is highly competitive, averaging 5.6 L/100km on combined cycles, which keeps monthly costs low even with extensive highway driving between cities like Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Al Habtoor Motors provides a robust authorized service network across the UAE, with similar representation through authorized distributors in Saudi Arabia and Oman, ensuring parts are readily available. While Chinese brands typically see higher initial depreciation than Japanese stalwarts, the JS4 holds its value well within the budget SUV segment due to its high feature-to-price ratio and GCC-specific warranty support.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 147 hp and 210 Nm of torque, the JS4 delivers steady, predictable power that is well-suited for urban commuting. The 6-speed CVT is tuned for efficiency, helping the car achieve a respectable top speed of 170 km/h for confident highway cruising. While it is a road-biased front-wheel-drive crossover, the 202 mm of ground clearance is a practical asset for navigating the high speed bumps and occasional sandy access roads common in newer residential communities across the Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around the needs of a small family, featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen that serves as the command center for the vehicle's tech. GCC-critical comfort is handled by an automatic climate control system with dedicated rear vents to ensure all five passengers stay cool during the peak summer months. The interior design is modern and asymmetric, utilizing artificial leather and soft-touch materials to elevate the cabin beyond its price point, while the acoustic hood helps dampen road noise during long desert highway stretches.

Safety

The Intelligence trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill Start Assist. For navigating the GCC’s multi-lane highways, the standard Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert provide essential layers of protection. The inclusion of a 360° panoramic camera and rear parking sensors makes maneuvering in tight city parking structures effortless, while the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) offers peace of mind during high-temperature drives.

The bottom line

Perfect for the tech-savvy professional or a small family, this JS4 Intelligence offers the highest possible spec for the model year at a price that significantly undercuts its European and Japanese rivals. It is a ready-to-drive, high-value opportunity in the region's most popular resale color.
