Summary

This 2024 Kia Pegas EX offers a perfect balance of modern features and exceptional fuel efficiency for urban commuting in the GCC. As the top-tier EX trim, it enhances the ownership experience with a sunroof, artificial leather upholstery, and a 7-inch touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay. With only 41,000 km over two years, this sedan has been used reasonably within local annual averages and retains a fresh, contemporary feel. The Pegas stands out in its segment for providing a spacious cabin and a large trunk, making it a highly practical choice for young families or professionals. Its robust mechanical simplicity ensures it handles the high temperatures and stop-start traffic of the region with total reliability.

This Car vs Other 2024 Pegass

With 41,000 km on the odometer, this Pegas has averaged 20,500 km per year, which sits comfortably within the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual range expected in the GCC. The vibrant Red exterior is a distinctive choice that remains popular for compact sedans in the local market, helping it stand out while maintaining its value. Compared to high-mileage rental alternatives, this privately maintained EX example represents a more secure long-term investment.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim significantly upgrades the Pegas from a basic commuter to a well-equipped daily driver by adding premium touches like 14-inch alloy wheels and chrome-coated door handles. Inside, the EX replaces fabric with durable artificial leather upholstery and adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, height adjustment for the driver, and cruise control. You also benefit from the 7-inch infotainment system with a rearview camera and rear parking sensors, features that are often missing on the base LX models.

Pegas vs Segment Rivals

The Kia Pegas leads competitors like the Mitsubishi Attrage by offering a more refined 4-cylinder engine and superior interior technology, including standard smartphone integration on higher trims. While rivals like the Hyundai Accent are slightly larger, the Pegas offers a class-leading 475-litre boot that rivals some cars in the segment above. Its 1.4-litre powertrain is specifically tuned for a balance of city pep and highway efficiency, making it a versatile alternative to more basic entry-level sedans.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are among the lowest in the region, with a combined fuel consumption of 5.7 L/100km that allows for over 700 km of range from its 43-litre tank. Kia's service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This model enjoys strong value retention in the GCC used market due to its reputation for mechanical durability and high demand in the secondary retail and ride-hailing sectors.

Performance & Capability

The 1.4-litre 4-cylinder engine produces a reliable 95 hp, providing smooth and predictable power delivery through a 4-speed automatic transmission. While designed for efficiency, the Pegas remains composed at highway speeds and offers a tight turning circle that is ideal for navigating crowded urban areas and tight parking spots. Its 150 mm ground clearance is well-suited for the occasional uneven surfaces and speed bumps found across regional road networks.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is surprisingly spacious for a sub-compact sedan, featuring a dedicated 5-seat layout with impressive rear legroom for its class. In the EX trim, the artificial leather seats provide a more premium feel and are easier to maintain in the dusty GCC environment. The air conditioning system is engineered for the heat of the Middle East, with powerful cooling performance and well-placed vents to ensure passenger comfort even during the peak of summer.

Safety

Standard safety on this EX trim includes dual front airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), and Electronic Stability Control. It is further equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System and ISOFIX child seat anchors, providing essential protection for family duties. The inclusion of a rearview camera and rear parking sensors as standard on the EX trim adds a crucial layer of safety for daily urban maneuvers.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking a modern, low-maintenance sedan that won't break the bank at the pump, this top-spec 2024 Pegas EX is an ideal opportunity.
