Summary

This 2024 Mercedes-Benz C300 represents a refined entry into the modern executive sedan segment, offering a sophisticated balance of performance and efficiency. With its mild-hybrid assisted powertrain and rear-wheel-drive dynamics, it provides a more engaging driving experience than many of its front-wheel-drive competitors. Despite being a Korean specification model, it shares the core mechanical excellence of the W206 generation, including the impressive 11.9-inch MBUX infotainment architecture. The grey exterior is a highly resilient resale choice in the GCC, and at 27,000 km, the car remains well within its early lifecycle. It is an ideal choice for the professional commuter looking for S-Class inspired technology in a more agile, city-friendly footprint.

This Car vs Other 2024 C300s

With 27,000 km on the odometer, this C300 has seen usage slightly above the typical 20,000 km annual GCC average, though this is common for executive sedans primarily used for highway commuting between emirates. The grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand shade that resists heat and maintains strong resale appeal across the UAE and wider region. Being a 2024 model, it benefits from the latest mild-hybrid refinements and interior software updates not found in earlier W206 production years.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The C300 trim provides a significant power jump over the C200, adding nearly 60 extra horsepower and 100 Nm of torque, which is immediately noticeable when merging onto fast-moving GCC highways. Unlike lower configurations, this trim typically features the larger high-resolution portrait infotainment screen and digital cockpit as standard, bringing a genuine 'mini S-Class' feel to the cabin. It also often includes upgraded LED lighting and enhanced driver assistance features that are optional on the base C180 models.

C300 vs Segment Rivals

The C300 directly competes with the BMW 330i and Audi A4, setting itself apart with a cabin design that is significantly more luxury-focused than its sportier rivals. Its 400 Nm of torque provides effortless overtaking capability, rivaling the mid-tier performance of the Lexus IS 350 while maintaining superior fuel efficiency thanks to its 48V mild-hybrid system. For the GCC buyer, the Mercedes offers a more compliant ride quality that excels on long stretches of the E11 or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 7.3 L/100km, offering an efficient balance for daily Dubai or Riyadh traffic. As a Korean spec vehicle, owners should note that while mechanical parts are widely available across the GCC, official local warranty coverage may not apply, making a high-quality third-party service contract a wise consideration. The C-Class typically experiences a depreciation of 12–15% annually in the GCC, holding its value better than larger luxury sedans due to consistent demand in the pre-owned market.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers a brisk 0–100 km/h time of 6.0 seconds, supported by an EQ Boost system that adds 20 hp for smoother initial acceleration. The 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission is tuned for seamless shifts, ensuring the engine remains in its optimal power band during high-speed cruising. Rear-wheel-drive architecture provides a tight turning circle and sharp handling, making it as capable in congested urban centers as it is on open desert highways.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a showcase of modern luxury, featuring the signature floating center console and a cabin insulated to filter out the harsh GCC road noise. Dual-zone climate control with powerful rear vents ensures all five passengers remain comfortable during the peak summer months, while the high-quality synthetic leather is designed to resist UV wear. Ambient lighting and a digital-first interface create an executive atmosphere that remains comfortable even during long-distance drives across borders.

Safety

This C300 comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Attention Assist, which are vital for safety on multi-lane GCC highways. The W206 generation features a high-strength passenger cell and multiple airbags, including a center airbag between the front seats. Adaptive braking technology and electronic stability control come standard, providing confidence during rare rainy spells or on sand-dusted road surfaces.

The bottom line

This 2024 C300 is a perfect match for the driver who wants the prestige and technology of an S-Class in a more maneuverable and fuel-efficient package. It represents a modern, high-spec opportunity for anyone looking to upgrade their daily commute with a near-new Mercedes-Benz.
