Summary

This 2024 GLS 450 in the 4M AMG HIGH trim offers a rare combination of fresh model-year updates and significant savings for a GCC buyer. While the mileage reflects active use typical for a high-end family SUV in the region, the Black-on-Black configuration remains the most liquid color for resale in the UAE and Saudi markets. As the S-Class of SUVs, it provides more interior volume than its German rivals while maintaining a composed highway ride suited for cross-emirate travel. This specific listing is ideal for those who want the latest facelifted design and MBUX tech without the immediate depreciation of a showroom-fresh unit.

This Car vs Other 2024 GLS450s

With 75,000 km, this vehicle has been driven more than the average 20,000–25,000 km annual cycle typically seen in the GCC. However, this is largely reflective of long-distance highway use which is less stressful on the drivetrain than city stop-start traffic. The Obsidian Black exterior is a high-demand resale color in this region, ensuring better value retention compared to niche shades.

4M AMG HIGH vs Lower Trims

The AMG HIGH trim significantly upgrades the visual presence with the AMG Line exterior styling and 21-inch twin five-spoke wheels. Inside, this trim adds essential GCC comforts such as the Burmester Surround Sound system and the MBUX Interior Assistant. It bridges the gap between the base model and the V8 variants by offering the sportier handling of the AMG-tuned suspension without the V8 fuel overhead.

GLS450 vs Segment Rivals

The GLS 450 leads the BMW X7 in terms of outright wheelbase length, which translates to a more comfortable third row for adults. While the Range Rover offers high-end prestige, the Mercedes-Benz provides a more intuitive MBUX infotainment experience and a larger 90-litre fuel tank for long desert highway runs. Its 48V mild-hybrid system provides smoother stop-start transitions than many competitors in this class.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 11.2 L/100km, though this varies during peak summer months when the climate control works at maximum capacity. Mercedes-Benz maintains one of the strongest authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts availability is never an issue. The GLS typically sees a depreciation rate of 12-15% annually in the GCC, performing better than most boutique European SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0-litre inline-6 produces 367 hp and 500 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h time of 6.2 seconds which is ample for confident highway overtaking. The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system and adjustable air suspension provide a smooth, 'magic carpet' ride across well-paved UAE highways and graded gravel tracks. Selectable drive modes, including an Off-Road setting, allow the car to adapt its torque distribution for weekend trips to the dunes.

Comfort & Cabin

This 7-seater configuration is designed for GCC family logistics, featuring a power-folding third row and ventilated front seats as standard. The cabin insulation is optimized to keep the 45°C summer heat out, supported by a powerful multi-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents. With the third row folded, the boot opens up to a cavernous 2,400 litres of space, accommodating everything from large grocery runs to full family holiday luggage.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a 360° camera system which is essential for maneuvering such a large vehicle in tight urban parking. The active ADAS suite provides Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist for fast-moving highway traffic, and Attention Assist for long-distance desert drives. The robust construction and comprehensive airbag coverage provide the peace of mind required for a primary family vehicle.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs 7-seat utility and S-Class prestige, this 2024 model offers the latest tech and styling at a much more accessible price point due to its highway mileage.
