Summary

This Nissan Kicks SV is a high-utility subcompact crossover that balances exceptional fuel economy with the versatility needed for daily life in the UAE. With the SV trim, you gain meaningful tech upgrades like intelligent cruise control and an 8-inch touchscreen that significantly improve the long-distance driving experience between emirates. Its grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, maintaining its appeal and resale value while hiding road dust better than darker tones. As a GCC-spec vehicle with a proven 1.6L powertrain, it represents a low-risk ownership proposition supported by the widest service network in the region. This is a perfect opportunity for urban professionals or small families seeking a modern, reliable commuter that excels in stop-start traffic.

This Car vs Other 2024 Kickses

With 48,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been used as a consistent daily commuter, which is typical for a 2024 model in the GCC where highway distances are significant. While the mileage is slightly above the strict global average, it is well within the expected range for a modern Nissan in the UAE market. The grey exterior is one of the most resilient colors for the local climate, offering better heat rejection than black and higher resale liquidity than niche colors.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim is the sweet spot for GCC buyers, upgrading from the base S trim's steel wheels to 17-inch machined alloy wheels and adding silver roof rails for a more premium SUV aesthetic. Crucially for regional highway driving, it introduces intelligent cruise control and an upgraded 8-inch NissanConnect infotainment system. You also benefit from the Nissan Intelligent Key with remote engine start, allowing you to cool the cabin before entering during the summer months.

Kicks vs Segment Rivals

Against rivals like the Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue, the Kicks stands out with its class-leading boot space and a more compliant ride on varied road surfaces. While the competition focuses on smaller turbocharged engines, the Kicks’ naturally aspirated 1.6L unit is widely regarded as more durable for long-term ownership in extreme heat. Its 41-litre fuel tank paired with high efficiency provides a competitive cruising range for cross-border trips.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.6L engine is one of the most economical in its class, achieving a verified 6.2 L/100km on average, which keeps monthly fuel bills low even with heavy city use. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and Nissan’s extensive network ensures competitive maintenance pricing across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Historically, the Kicks retains roughly 80-85% of its value after the first year in the GCC, performing better than many European subcompact rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 118 hp engine is optimized for efficiency and smooth urban navigation rather than raw speed, providing a steady 0-100 km/h time of approximately 11.5 seconds. The front-wheel-drive layout and light steering make it incredibly easy to park in tight city spots, while the Xtronic CVT is tuned for seamless power delivery in stop-start traffic. With a top speed of 180 km/h, it is perfectly capable of maintaining legal highway speeds across the Emirates with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features Nissan's 'Zero Gravity' inspired seating, which is specifically designed to reduce fatigue during long commutes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The SV trim includes automatic climate control and rear passenger under-seat heater ducts to ensure consistent cooling throughout the interior. For practicality, the 60/40 split-folding rear seats allow for a flat loading floor, expanding the already generous cargo area to accommodate larger items or weekend gear.

Safety

Standard safety is a priority for this model, featuring the full Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite which includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SV trim adds intelligent driver alertness and intelligent cruise control, providing an extra layer of safety for high-speed highway travel. These active systems are particularly valuable in the GCC's fast-moving traffic environments, helping to mitigate risks during lane changes and sudden stops.

The bottom line

For a buyer looking for a near-new crossover that is cheap to run and easy to resell, this GCC-spec SV trim is the most logical choice in the subcompact segment.
