Summary

This 2024 Nissan Patrol represents the peak of the legendary Y62 generation, offering a near-new ownership profile in the highly sought-after LE Platinum City trim. The blue exterior is a sophisticated choice that maintains strong secondary market demand in the GCC, while the low-mileage status provides a significant advantage over typical high-use regional examples. As a final-year model for this iteration, it benefits from the most refined assembly and technology updates before the new generation transition. For a GCC buyer, this is a strategic acquisition that combines the reliability of a naturally aspirated V8 with the status of a flagship SUV, all backed by the most comprehensive parts and service availability in the region.

This Car vs Other 2024 Patrols

While many 2024 Patrols in the GCC quickly accumulate mileage through long-distance commutes between emirates, this example retains a low-mileage advantage that preserves its mechanical longevity. The LE Platinum City trim is the highest naturally aspirated specification available, often commanding a premium over the more common V6 or lower V8 trims. Its blue finish offers a refined alternative to the ubiquitous white and silver options while remaining a highly liquid color for resale.

LE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the Platinum City trim adds essential GCC luxury features that lower LE trims lack, including premium quilted leather upholstery and a 13-speaker Bose audio system. The cabin experience is significantly elevated by climate-controlled (ventilated and heated) front seats and a factory-fitted rear-seat entertainment system, which are high-priority requirements for local family use. It also features the Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC) system, providing superior stability on desert dunes and flatter cornering on the highway compared to the standard suspension on lower trims.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol remains a preferred choice over the Toyota Land Cruiser and GMC Yukon for buyers who value its superior on-road refinement and interior material quality. Its massive 140-litre fuel tank provides a significantly longer cruising range for cross-border GCC trips than many rivals in the segment. Furthermore, the 5.6-litre V8 is widely regarded for its linear power delivery and legendary durability in extreme heat, which remains a key differentiator against smaller-displacement turbocharged competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6-litre V8 typically ranges between 14.5 L/100km on long highway stretches and 18-20 L/100km in heavy GCC city traffic. Maintenance is straightforward and predictable, with official service intervals every 10,000 km or 6 months, supported by one of the most extensive authorized service networks spanning the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The Patrol historically enjoys some of the highest resale value retention in the region, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually compared to the faster rates seen in European luxury SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 engine delivers 560 Nm of torque, enabling an official 0-100 km/h time of approximately 6.6 seconds, which is impressive for a vehicle of this size. It features a specialized all-wheel-drive system with selectable modes for Sand, Rock, and Snow, making it a genuine desert-conquering 4x4 straight from the showroom. With a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, it is equally capable of hauling heavy trailers or boats across long highway distances with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The 8-seat configuration is designed for maximum family utility, featuring a genuine three-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents to combat the GCC summer heat. The cabin is exceptionally quiet thanks to acoustic glass, providing a serene environment for the premium Bose audio system to perform. High-grade materials, including wood grain accents and quilted leather, ensure the interior feels like a luxury lounge whether you are on a school run in the city or a weekend road trip to Salalah.

Safety

This flagship trim comes standard with Nissan’s full Intelligent Mobility suite, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Intervention, which are essential for long desert highway drives. The 360-degree Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection makes parking this large SUV in tight urban spaces effortless. Additional safety is provided by Blind Spot Warning and Forward Collision Warning, ensuring a high level of protection in fast-moving multi-lane traffic.

The bottom line

For the buyer who demands a flagship SUV that is equally at home at a five-star hotel valet as it is on a desert dune, this low-mileage 2024 Patrol LE Platinum City is the definitive GCC choice.
