This 2024 Nissan Sunny S is a practical choice for UAE commuters, offering modern styling and exceptional fuel efficiency. With its black exterior, it maintains high resale appeal in the GCC market, where neutral colors are consistently in demand. The Sunny stands out from its rivals by providing class-leading front legroom and a reputation for enduring extreme summer temperatures without mechanical strain. Having covered 67,950 km, this vehicle is well-suited for a buyer who prioritizes a low buy-in cost for a near-new model year. For any GCC owner, the widespread availability of parts and the vast Nissan service network ensure long-term, hassle-free maintenance.

This Car vs Other 2024 Nissan Sunnys

With 67,950 km on the odometer, this Sunny has been driven more than the typical 25,000 km annual average for the UAE, making it an accessible entry point into the latest generation. Its black finish is a strong resale color in the local market, ensuring it remains attractive to future buyers. The 2024 model year benefit means you get the refreshed V-motion grille and updated tech that older models lack.

S vs Lower Trims

As the foundational S trim for 2024, this model includes cruise control and rear parking sensors as standard, features that were often optional in previous entry-level versions. It also features a 7-inch infotainment display with Bluetooth connectivity, providing essential modern tech that keeps it competitive against basic fleet-spec vehicles. GCC buyers will appreciate the standard inclusion of Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Hill Start Assist for added stability on varied road surfaces.

Sunny vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Sunny leads rivals like the Toyota Yaris and Hyundai Accent in front legroom and headroom, making it a preferred choice for taller drivers or those using the car for ride-hailing services. Its 1.6L engine offers a slight power advantage over the 1.5L units found in several competitors, providing smoother highway cruising across the Emirates. Additionally, the Sunny's air conditioning system is widely regarded in the region for its ability to cool the cabin rapidly during peak summer heat.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 1.6L powertrain is impressively low, with manufacturer figures reaching 19.1 km/L, which translates to significant savings during long-distance commutes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and Nissan’s extensive authorized center presence across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman makes maintenance convenient. While the Sunny sees higher initial depreciation than some Japanese rivals, it retains a high volume of buyers in the used market due to its reputation for durability.

Performance & Capability

The 1.6-litre engine delivers 118 horsepower and 149 Nm of torque, paired with a smooth Xtronic CVT designed for city efficiency and steady highway speeds. It reaches a top speed of approximately 180 km/h, providing enough capability for safe overtaking on fast-moving multi-lane roads. The front-wheel-drive setup and light steering make it exceptionally easy to navigate through heavy traffic and tight urban parking spaces.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five occupants with fabric seats that stay cooler in the sun compared to leather alternatives. It offers a generous 425-litre boot capacity, easily accommodating family groceries or airport luggage for visitors. Standard features like the 7-inch touchscreen and dedicated rear cooling vents ensure that all passengers remain connected and comfortable during long cross-country drives.

Safety

The 2024 Sunny S comes equipped with essential safety systems for GCC highways, including dual front airbags and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). It features Intelligent Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Warning, which are rare standard inclusions for an entry-level trim in this segment. Stability is further enhanced by ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, providing confidence during sudden stops in fast-moving traffic.

The bottom line

Perfect for the budget-conscious commuter or small family, this 2024 Sunny S offers the best balance of new-model features and fuel thrift in the UAE market today.
