Summary

This 2024 Nissan Sunny S is a definitive choice for GCC drivers who prioritize efficiency and long-term reliability. With mileage below the typical annual average for the region, this white sedan is in high demand for its heat-reflecting properties and excellent resale liquidity. The 1.6-litre engine is perfectly suited for both congested city traffic and the long-distance highway commutes common between the Emirates. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a robust air conditioning system and local parts availability that few rivals can match. This listing offers a near-new ownership experience while avoiding the steepest part of the initial depreciation curve.

This Car vs Other 2024 Sunnys

With approximately 49,500 km, this vehicle's mileage is slightly above the regional average for a one-year-old car but reflects the typical highway use that keeps GCC engines well-maintained. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local market, providing a significant advantage for future resale value and cabin cooling. Buying a 2024 model now allows you to secure a current-generation vehicle while the first owner has already absorbed the initial registration and drive-away depreciation.

S vs Lower Trims

As the foundational S trim for the 2024 refresh, this car includes the redesigned V-motion grille and updated Nissan branding as standard. Unlike previous base models, the 2024 S comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and rear parking sensors, which are essential for navigating tight urban parking. It retains mechanical simplicity with 15-inch steel wheels and manual climate control, ensuring lower long-term maintenance costs compared to the higher-tech SV and SL trims.

Sunny vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Sunny leads the Toyota Yaris and Hyundai Accent in front legroom and trunk capacity, offering 490 litres of luggage space for family trips. Its 1.6-litre powertrain delivers a combined 5.2 L/100km, outperforming many competitors in real-world fuel thrift during long desert highway drives. The sheer scale of Nissan's service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia gives it a logistical edge over newer market entrants.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel costs are among the lowest in the sedan segment, with the 1.6L engine designed to run efficiently on 95-octane petrol. Nissan service intervals in the GCC are typically every 10,000 km, and the abundance of genuine parts ensures that maintenance remains affordable even outside of major cities. The Sunny remains a liquid asset in the UAE market, typically retaining 80-85% of its value after three years due to high demand from both private buyers and secondary export markets.

Performance & Capability

The 118 hp engine provides steady and predictable acceleration, reaching 0-100 km/h in approximately 10.7 seconds, which is ample for merging onto fast-moving highways like the E11. The Xtronic CVT is tuned for smooth operation in stop-start city traffic, minimizing the 'rubber band' feel often found in older economy cars. With a top speed of 180 km/h and a 40-litre fuel tank, it comfortably handles cross-country trips with a total range exceeding 700 km under optimal conditions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features the segment-first Zero-gravity front seats, designed to reduce fatigue during the long commutes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. While the S trim uses durable cloth upholstery, the interior feels modern thanks to the D-shaped steering wheel and integrated 7-inch display. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents and class-leading legroom, ensuring comfort even during the peak of the GCC summer.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the 2024 S trim includes dual front airbags, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), and Hill Start Assist, which is particularly useful on multi-level parking ramps. The inclusion of Rear Parking Sensors and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) as standard provides essential daily peace of mind. Nissan's Zone Body construction provides a reinforced structure with front and rear crumple zones specifically tested for high-speed regional road conditions.

The bottom line

For the pragmatic buyer, this 2024 Sunny S represents the gold standard for low-cost, high-reliability daily transport in the Middle East.
