RAM 1500 TRX

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds
• 300 mm maximum ground clearance
• 3,674 kg braked towing capacity

Summary

This 2024 TRX represents the final production year of the legendary supercharged 6.2L V8, making it a high-priority target for collectors and enthusiasts in the GCC. With just 30,000 km, this black-on-black example sits well below the average annual mileage for a regional performance truck, offering significant mechanical longevity. While competitors have moved toward smaller engines, the TRX maintains its status as the most visceral super-truck on the market, perfectly suited for the UAE's vast desert dunes and fast-moving highways. Its aggressive presence and massive power output ensure it remains a top-tier choice for those who value performance over fuel economy. As a late-model American spec unit in a high-resale color, it offers a compelling entry point into the pinnacle of the off-road segment.

This Car vs Other 2024 RAM 1500s

At 30,000 km, this TRX has been driven significantly less than the typical 25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC, preserving the health of its supercharged powertrain. The Black exterior is one of the three most sought-after colors in the regional used market, ensuring faster resale and stronger value retention compared to louder, niche colors. While many 2024 models are entering their second service cycle, this vehicle's low usage makes it a standout option for a buyer seeking a near-new experience.

TRX vs Lower Trims

The TRX is a complete mechanical departure from the Rebel or Laramie, featuring a reinforced high-strength steel frame and a specialized wide-body design. Beyond the 702 hp supercharged engine, it adds the sophisticated Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive damping system and a massive 12-inch digital cluster as standard. GCC buyers specifically benefit from the TRX's superior cooling capacity and performance exhaust, features that are not available even as options on lower-tier trims.

RAM 1500 vs Segment Rivals

The TRX leads segment rivals like the Ford F-150 Raptor in raw output, offering 702 hp compared to the standard Raptor's V6. While the Raptor R is its closest competitor, the TRX is often preferred in the GCC for its larger, more luxurious cabin and class-exclusive reclining rear seats. Its full-time four-wheel-drive system provides more consistent traction on the UAE's mixed sand and asphalt surfaces than many part-time systems found in rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 19.8 L/100km, though highway cruising between emirates can improve this to 16.5 L/100km. Service is supported by an extensive authorized network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, with recommended intervals typically every 10,000 km for this high-performance engine. As the final year of the V8 TRX, this 2024 model is expected to follow a much slower depreciation curve than standard pickups, potentially holding 65-70% of its value over the next three years.

Performance & Capability

Generating a massive 702 hp and 881 Nm of torque, the TRX is capable of a 190 km/h limited top speed and a blistering 4.5-second sprint to 100 km/h. Its off-road hardware is unrivaled, featuring 13 inches of suspension travel and 11.8 inches (approx. 300 mm) of ground clearance for navigating the tallest Liwa dunes. Eight selectable drive modes, including a dedicated Sand mode, optimize the powertrain for the specific terrains found across the Arabian Peninsula.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is tailored for the GCC climate, featuring a high-capacity dual-zone climate control system and premium leather bucket seats. The cabin is exceptionally well-insulated from exterior heat and tire noise, creating a luxury SUV feel during long-distance drives across borders. Tech highlights include the 12-inch Uconnect touchscreen and a 10-speaker premium audio system, ensuring a connected and comfortable environment even in remote desert locations.

Safety

The TRX is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Electronic Stability Control. The heavy-duty 15-inch front brakes provide superior stopping power, essential for managing high speeds on UAE highways. Standard adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera system make navigating city traffic and tight parking spaces significantly safer for a vehicle of this footprint.

The bottom line

For the performance enthusiast, this final-year V8 TRX is a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage icon that is essentially desert-ready from day one. Its combination of blacked-out styling and immense supercharged power makes it the ultimate statement piece in the GCC market.
