Summary

This 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser GXR is a standout opportunity in the GCC market, offering the high-output twin-turbo engine that has become the new standard for regional performance. With 70,000 km, this vehicle has been utilized for the long-distance highway commutes typical of the UAE, yet remains well within its primary service lifecycle. The black exterior is a premier choice for resale value in this region, ensuring high demand when you eventually decide to upgrade. As a GCC-spec model, it features the heavy-duty cooling systems required to handle extreme summer temperatures without compromise. This listing represents a perfect balance for a buyer who wants flagship-level power and 300-series refinement without the flagship price tag.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

While 70,000 km is above the global average, it is considered standard for a 2024 model in the GCC, where daily commutes between Emirates often involve high-speed highway driving. The black exterior is one of the most sought-after colors in the local used market, providing a significant resale advantage over niche colors. As a GCC-spec unit, this vehicle maintains full eligibility for authorized service across the region, a critical factor for long-term value retention.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim provides a substantial upgrade over the entry-level EXR, most notably adding a larger 12.3-inch multimedia display and wireless Apple CarPlay for a modernized cabin experience. It also introduces 20-inch alloy wheels and a wireless charging pad, features that are highly valued by GCC drivers for both aesthetics and daily convenience. Furthermore, the GXR includes essential driver assistance technology and a powered tailgate that are absent on base-model workhorses.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser leads with its sophisticated 10-speed automatic transmission which provides superior fuel efficiency during long desert highway hauls. The twin-turbo V6 offers significantly more torque than the Patrol's naturally aspirated V8, making it more responsive when overtaking at speed. Additionally, the Land Cruiser’s 110-litre dual-tank system offers a massive cruising range that is ideal for cross-border travel within the GCC.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L twin-turbo V6 averages approximately 12.1 L/100km, which is highly competitive for a full-size SUV in GCC city and highway traffic. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km at authorized Toyota centers, which are the most widely available and affordable across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. Historically, the Land Cruiser GXR retains its value better than any other vehicle in its class, typically depreciating at a much lower annual rate than European luxury rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5L twin-turbo V6 delivers a massive 409 hp and 650 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 6.8 seconds—an impressive feat for a vehicle of this size. Built on a body-on-frame platform with a 230mm ground clearance, it is engineered for extreme desert terrain while the 10-speed transmission ensures a smooth, quiet ride on the highway. Selectable terrain modes and Crawl Control provide the technical capability needed for weekend dune bashing in the Liwa or Rub' al Khali deserts.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat cabin is specifically tailored for the Middle Eastern climate, featuring high-output multi-zone air conditioning and front-seat ventilation to ensure comfort during peak summer months. The GXR trim includes a powered driver’s seat and a cool box in the center console, a must-have for keeping beverages cold during long family road trips. The interior is well-insulated against road noise, providing a refined environment for up to seven passengers across three rows of seating.

Safety

This Land Cruiser comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including 8 airbags and Toyota’s advanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). Standard driver aids such as Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are invaluable for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The inclusion of a 360-degree camera and front and rear sensors makes parking this full-size SUV effortless in tight urban environments.

The bottom line

This Land Cruiser is the ideal choice for a GCC resident who needs a reliable family workhorse that can transition seamlessly from professional commuting to serious desert exploration. It offers the best resale-ready color and the most desirable modern powertrain available in the current market.
