Summary

This 2021 model represents a high-demand year for the redesigned G-Class, offering the modern W463 chassis that significantly improved on-road handling without sacrificing its legendary boxy silhouette. The white exterior is the most sought-after color for resale in the GCC, ensuring long-term value retention in the local market. While this is a Japanese spec vehicle, it offers the same hand-assembled AMG performance that has made the model a cultural icon across the Emirates. With mileage that reflects typical executive use, this SUV provides a balanced entry point into the pinnacle of the AMG lineup. It remains the definitive choice for those who require presence, power, and genuine off-road hardware in a single package.

This Car vs Other 2021 G63 AMGs

At 83,700 km, this vehicle's mileage is consistent with typical GCC annual averages of 20,000–25,000 km, suggesting it has been used as a primary commuter rather than a weekend-only car. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the UAE, as it commands the highest resale premiums and helps deflect the intense summer heat. While Japanese spec cars are often priced more competitively than GCC spec equivalents, they are prized by many local buyers for their typically meticulous maintenance history and clean interior condition.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The AMG G63 sits at the top of the G-Class hierarchy, adding a hand-built V8 that produces 577 hp compared to the G500’s 416 hp. This trim includes the AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension, upgraded high-performance brakes, and a side-exit exhaust system that provides a distinct acoustic character. Inside, the G63 features an AMG-specific instrument cluster and Nappa leather upholstery as standard, along with the 15-speaker Burmester surround-sound system.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 stands alone in its segment as the only luxury SUV to feature three independent locking differentials and a full ladder-frame chassis, offering far more mechanical durability than the monocoque Range Rover SVR or Lamborghini Urus. While the Urus focuses on track-like agility, the G-Wagon leads in ground clearance and raw presence. Its vertical seating position also offers better visibility for navigating dense city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh compared to low-slung performance rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages roughly 13.2 L/100km, though this can increase significantly in stop-start city traffic typical of the GCC. As a Japanese spec import, buyers should note that authorized dealer warranties may not apply locally, but the extensive network of independent European specialists across the UAE makes servicing and parts sourcing straightforward. The G63 enjoys some of the highest value retention in the region, typically depreciating at a slower rate than its British or Italian competitors.

Performance & Capability

Propelled by 850 Nm of torque, the G63 reaches 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, a feat that remains impressive given its 2.5-ton weight. The triple locking differentials allow it to tackle soft sand and steep dunes that would defeat most luxury crossovers, making it a viable weekend desert explorer. On the highway, the 9-speed AMG Speedshift TCT transmission ensures rapid overtaking and comfortable cruising between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a dual 12.3-inch widescreen cockpit that provides high-definition navigation and vehicle data. Tri-zone climate control is standard, ensuring rear passengers remain comfortable during the peak summer months. The upright design provides exceptional headroom for all five occupants, while the acoustic glass helps isolate the interior from road noise during long-distance highway drives.

Safety

Standard safety tech for this model year includes the Distronic adaptive cruise control system, which is essential for long desert highway stretches. The vehicle also features blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree camera system to assist in parking the large SUV in tight urban spaces. Mercedes-Benz's Pre-Safe system and active brake assist provide additional layers of protection for both city and off-road driving.

The bottom line

This 2021 G63 is ideal for a buyer seeking the ultimate status symbol with a proven maintenance background and a resale-friendly color, offering modern tech and unmatched presence at a competitive import price point.
