Summary

This 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser VXR offers a perfect balance of flagship luxury and legendary off-road capability. As the top-tier GCC specification, it commands the highest resale value in the region, especially in this classic white finish which remains the most sought-after color for heat reflection and market liquidity. With mileage that reflects typical long-distance highway use common in the Emirates, it has been broken in exactly as intended for a vehicle of this stature. This model stands out for its transition to the high-output twin-turbo V6, providing superior overtaking power compared to its V8 predecessors while maintaining the durability expected of the nameplate. For a GCC buyer, the primary draw is the peace of mind offered by the most robust service network in the Middle East.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

With 64,000 km, this vehicle’s usage is slightly above the regional average for its first year but aligns with the typical highway-heavy lifestyle of cross-emirate commuters. In the GCC market, high-mileage Land Cruisers are often preferred over lower-mileage garage queens as it proves the mechanical reliability under extreme heat. The white exterior is the gold standard for resale in the UAE, ensuring it will remain easy to trade or sell in the future.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim adds significant premium features over the GXR and EXR, including the flagship 12.3-inch infotainment display and a 14-speaker JBL premium audio system. Crucially for the GCC climate, it features four-zone independent climate control and ventilated seating for both the front and second-row passengers. You also benefit from the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and the full suite of Toyota Safety Sense technologies that are often simplified on lower grades.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Nissan Patrol or Ford Expedition, the Land Cruiser leads in long-term value retention and parts availability across all seven GCC nations. Its 110-litre dual-tank system provides a superior cruising range for long desert highway stretches compared to most European luxury SUVs. While rivals might focus on soft-road comfort, the Land Cruiser maintains a genuine body-on-frame construction that handles the rigors of Liwa dunes and Hatta wadis with far greater resilience.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L twin-turbo petrol engine is designed for 95-octane fuel and delivers improved efficiency over the older 5.7L V8 during highway cruising. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, with one of the most affordable maintenance schedules in the luxury SUV segment thanks to a massive local parts inventory. Historically, the Land Cruiser VXR retains approximately 75-80% of its value after three years in the UAE market, significantly outperforming its American and European competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 409 hp twin-turbo V6 produces 650 Nm of torque, allowing this large SUV to reach 100 km/h in approximately 6.7 seconds—a significant leap over the previous generation. It features a 10-speed automatic transmission and a sophisticated Multi-Terrain Select system that adjusts the AWD hardware for sand, rock, or mud. With a ground clearance of 235 mm and a standard low-range transfer case, it remains the benchmark for off-road performance in the region.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the VXR is a seven-seat sanctuary featuring premium leather upholstery and a cooled center console box—an essential for keeping beverages cold during the summer months. The cabin is heavily insulated to keep out road noise and desert heat, while the dual rear-seat entertainment screens keep passengers occupied on long drives between cities. The third row folds flat electrically, providing a versatile cargo space for family road trips or camping gear.

Safety

Safety is managed by the Toyota Safety Sense suite, which includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with steering vibration, and a Pre-Collision System. A 360-degree panoramic view monitor is standard, making it easier to navigate tight parking spots in Dubai or Riyadh. The vehicle is also equipped with a comprehensive 10-airbag system and high-strength body construction that has earned top safety accolades globally.

The bottom line

This VXR is the ideal choice for a family or executive looking for the ultimate 'King of the Desert' that won't lose its value, offering the highest level of Toyota luxury available today.
