Summary

This 2024 Toyota Raize Turbo G is a standout choice for urban drivers seeking a blend of modern tech and legendary Toyota reliability. As the range-topping turbocharged variant, it offers significantly more pep for highway merging compared to the standard 1.2L engine while maintaining exceptional fuel efficiency. The vibrant red exterior is a popular choice in the UAE, ensuring it remains highly visible and holds its appeal for future resale. With its current mileage, this car represents a balanced opportunity for a buyer looking for a nearly-new crossover experience without the new-car depreciation. It is perfectly sized for tight city parking while offering the elevated seating position that GCC drivers prefer for navigating multi-lane highway traffic.

This Car vs Other 2024 Toyota Raizes

With 48,213 km on the odometer, this Raize has been driven slightly above the typical annual average for the GCC market, which usually sits around 25,000 km per year. However, this high-use profile in a newer model year often signals consistent highway commuting rather than stop-start city wear. The bright red finish is a strong resale color in the local market, offering a more distinctive and premium look than the standard silver or white options.

Turbo G vs Lower Trims

The Turbo G trim is the most desirable specification for the Raize, adding the critical 1.0L turbocharged engine that delivers a more responsive 140 Nm of torque. Inside, this trim upgrades the experience with a larger 9-inch infotainment screen and a 6-speaker audio system, replacing the basic units found in the 1.2L E trim. Owners also benefit from 17-inch alloy wheels and LED headlamps which provide superior visibility during nighttime desert highway drives.

Raize vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Nissan Magnite or Kia Stonic, the Raize leads in terms of pure fuel efficiency and residual value within the GCC. Its 369-litre boot is more practical for small families than many subcompact competitors, and Toyota's extensive regional network ensures that parts and specialized technicians are available in every corner of the UAE and neighboring countries.

Running Costs & Resale

The Raize is one of the most economical non-hybrid SUVs in the region, achieving a manufacturer-rated 4.85 L/100km, which translates to massive savings at the pump for daily commuters. Toyota vehicles in the GCC traditionally hold their value better than almost any other brand, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually compared to 15% for some European rivals. Service intervals are every 10,000 km, and with the massive Al Futtaim network in the UAE, maintenance is convenient and affordable.

Performance & Capability

The 1.0L turbocharged engine produces 97 hp and 140 Nm of torque, allowing for a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 10 seconds. While designed for the city, the 200 mm ground clearance provides peace of mind when navigating high speed bumps or gravel parking lots common in developing suburban areas. The CVT transmission is tuned for smoothness, making it an ideal companion for the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Raize offers a surprisingly airy cabin for five passengers with dedicated storage solutions for mobile devices and drinks. The automatic air conditioning system is specifically designed for high-ambient temperatures, ensuring the cabin stays cool even during peak UAE summer afternoons. The inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ensures seamless navigation and connectivity for long cross-emirate road trips.

Safety

This Turbo G trim comes equipped with essential safety tech including a Rear View Camera and Front/Rear parking sensors to assist in tight urban spaces. Standard safety features include dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) to maintain composure during sudden maneuvers on sandy or wet road surfaces. Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC) is also standard, preventing rollback on inclined exits.

The bottom line

For the practical buyer who wants the tech of a top-spec model with the peace of mind of a Toyota warranty and GCC specifications, this Turbo G Raize is the most logical choice in the subcompact segment.
