Summary

The 2024 Toyota Raize is the definitive choice for GCC urbanites who value Toyota's legendary reliability without the footprint of a large SUV. With mileage that is perfectly average for its first year in the region, this white pearl example offers excellent resale prospects in a market that prioritizes neutral colors and GCC specifications. It stands out from rivals by offering a turbocharged engine that provides surprising pep for city overtakes while maintaining segment-leading fuel efficiency. For the GCC buyer, the most important consideration is the peace of mind provided by a massive service network and a car designed to handle stop-start city heat with ease.

This Car vs Other 2024 Toyota Raizes

With approximately 43,000 km, this Raize has been driven slightly more than the typical 20,000–25,000 km GCC annual average, yet it remains well within the window of peak mechanical reliability. Its white exterior is the strongest resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring it will hold its value better than more niche colors. Being a 2024 model, it benefits from the latest tech updates and remains a fresh presence on the road.

TURBO G RA vs Lower Trims

The Turbo G trim is a significant step up from the base 1.2L E variant, most notably replacing the naturally aspirated engine with a 1.0L turbocharged unit for better highway merging. GCC buyers will appreciate the 17-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights that provide a more premium aesthetic. Inside, this trim adds the leather-wrapped steering wheel and a more advanced 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, features that are highly sought after in the local used market.

Raize vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Kia Stonic or Nissan Kicks, the Raize leads in terms of pure efficiency and urban maneuverability thanks to its compact 2,525 mm wheelbase. While the Kicks offers slightly more cargo room, the Raize provides a higher ground clearance of 200 mm, which is ideal for navigating high speed bumps and gravel patches common in new residential developments across the GCC. Its Toyota badge also translates to a higher 3-year value retention rate compared to its Korean and European rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

This turbocharged variant achieves a manufacturer-estimated 4.8 L/100km on the highway, making it one of the most economical petrol-only SUVs in the region. Routine maintenance is straightforward and affordable, with authorized service centers available in almost every major city across the UAE, KSA, and Oman. Historically, the Raize depreciates at a low 8-10% annually, making it a safe financial bet for those looking to upgrade in a few years.

Performance & Capability

The 1.0L turbocharged 3-cylinder engine produces 97 hp and 140 Nm of torque, which feels much punchier than the numbers suggest due to the car's lightweight construction. The D-CVT transmission is tuned for GCC city traffic, providing smooth acceleration without the rubber-band feel of older CVTs. While not a desert off-roader, its 200 mm ground clearance and front-wheel-drive setup are more than capable of handling weekend trips to the beach or light gravel trails.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for maximum utility, offering 369 litres of boot space that can be expanded with flat-folding rear seats. Despite its compact exterior, the high roofline provides ample headroom for five adult passengers during family commutes. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered for the GCC's extreme summer heat, ensuring the cabin stays cool even during the peak of July.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the Turbo G trim includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill-Start Assist, which are crucial for maintaining control on slippery sand-covered roads. The car is also equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors with a camera to make urban parking effortless. These active systems provide a reliable safety net for daily driving in fast-moving highway traffic.

The bottom line

This 2024 Raize is the perfect match for a first-time buyer or a small family looking for a reliable, fuel-efficient daily driver with the most desirable trim and color combination for the GCC market.
