• 2,100 km total combined range (NEDC)

Summary

This 2025 BYD Seal 06 Standard represents a significant leap in efficiency for the GCC market, utilizing the brand's fifth-generation DM-i hybrid technology. With zero kilometers, this vehicle offers a brand-new ownership experience with the added benefit of a white exterior that maximizes resale value in local markets. As a plug-in hybrid, it bridges the gap between traditional fuel cars and full EVs, allowing for zero-emission city commuting in Dubai or Riyadh while maintaining massive range for cross-border highway trips. The Seal 06 stands out with its Ocean aesthetics design and ultra-low drag coefficient, ensuring it remains composed and efficient during long high-speed runs between emirates.

This Car vs Other 2025 SEAL 06s

As a 2025 model with zero mileage, this vehicle sits at the very beginning of its lifecycle in the GCC used market. While many used imports already carry the typical 20,000 km annual average seen on UAE highways, this specific unit provides a factory-fresh alternative. The white paint is the most sought-after color in the region, ensuring better heat reflection and significantly stronger resale demand compared to darker palettes.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The Standard trim serves as the efficient entry point for the Seal 06, featuring the high-efficiency 1.5L Atkinson-cycle engine paired with an 80 km electric range battery. While it focuses on core value, it still retains the essential tech GCC buyers expect, including the rotating infotainment touchscreen and smart connectivity. It trades the larger 120 km battery of higher trims for a lighter curb weight, which further enhances its low-speed urban efficiency.

SEAL 06 vs Segment Rivals

The Seal 06 leads rivals like the Toyota Corolla Hybrid and Geely Emgrand L HiP by offering a superior total range of up to 2,100 km (NEDC), far exceeding the cruising distance of traditional hybrids. Its dedicated PHEV platform provides a more spacious rear cabin for family use, and its advanced thermal management system is specifically designed to handle the rapid cooling demands of the GCC summer.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption is exceptionally low at 2.9 L/100km, making it one of the most cost-effective sedans for stop-start traffic in major GCC cities. Maintenance is simplified due to the reduced mechanical wear of the DM-i system, and authorized service networks are rapidly expanding across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. While as a new model its 3-year depreciation is still stabilizing, the high demand for BYD's new energy vehicles in the UAE suggests better value retention than traditional European luxury sedans.

Performance & Capability

The Seal 06 delivers a combined 163 hp, achieving 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, which provides plenty of punch for merging onto fast-moving GCC highways. The fifth-generation DM-i system prioritizes electric drive at lower speeds for a silent cabin experience, while the petrol engine engages seamlessly for high-speed overtaking. With a drag coefficient of just 0.248 Cd, the car remains stable and quiet even when cruising at 140 km/h.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin features BYD's signature wraparound design, offering a modern and spacious environment for families. The climate control system is engineered for high-temperature markets, featuring powerful air conditioning and dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers stay cool during peak summer. Ample legroom in the rear makes it a viable choice for executive commuting or family road trips across the borders.

Safety

Standard safety features include a high-strength body construction and multiple airbags to protect all occupants. The vehicle comes equipped with essential driver-assistance systems such as stability control and traction control, which are vital for maintaining grip on sandy or gravel-strewn road shoulders common in the region. The intelligent braking system is tuned for consistent performance, even during the extreme heat cycles typical of desert driving.

The bottom line

This 2025 Seal 06 is a prime opportunity for a buyer looking to slash their fuel bill without sacrificing the range needed for long GCC highway drives. Its brand-new status and popular white finish make it one of the safest and most efficient investments in the current market.
