Summary

This nearly new SUV offers a unique chance to own a modern crossover with negligible mileage at a competitive entry point for the GCC market. Its crisp white exterior is the region's preferred choice for heat reflection and strong resale demand, while the Chinese regional specification provides a tech-forward cabin that rivals more expensive segments. As a front-wheel-drive daily driver, it balances city maneuverability with the stable presence required for multi-lane highway commuting. For a buyer in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, it represents a smart alternative to traditional compact SUVs, delivering high-end digital features and a contemporary design language without the typical premium price tag.

This Car vs Other 2025 Song Pros

With just 1,200 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits significantly below the typical 20,000 km annual average for the GCC, effectively offering a showroom-fresh mechanical state. Its white paint is the highest-performing resale color in the regional used market, ensuring faster liquidity compared to darker shades. Choosing a Chinese-spec model like this one often allows buyers to access premium interior materials and larger digital displays not always found in basic regional export trims.

COMFORT vs Lower Trims

The Comfort trim elevates the ownership experience by replacing basic sound setups with a premium nine-speaker audio system, providing significantly better cabin acoustics for long drives. It also upgrades the technological interface, typically featuring a larger rotating digital cockpit and enhanced cabin lighting that gives the SUV a much more sophisticated feel. GCC buyers will appreciate the more refined interior finishes and added convenience features that make daily traffic in Riyadh or Dubai more manageable.

Song Pro vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the MG HS or Haval H6, the Song Pro stands out with its distinct 'Dragon Face' design language and a more minimalist, screen-centric interior layout that feels a generation ahead. It offers a generous 2,712 mm wheelbase, providing rear-seat legroom that competes directly with larger mid-size SUVs, making it a superior choice for family duties. While many competitors focus on rugged styling, this model leads with a polished, urban aesthetic and smooth automatic power delivery tuned for efficiency.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 1.5L powertrain remains highly competitive in GCC stop-start traffic, benefiting from a lightweight chassis and efficient automatic transmission. While Chinese brands typically see a depreciation rate of 15-20% in the first year, BYD’s growing presence and expanding authorized service network in the UAE (via Al-Futtaim) and Saudi Arabia are stabilizing these values. Routine maintenance is straightforward with 10,000 km service intervals, and parts availability is rapidly increasing as the brand becomes a staple of the regional fleet.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L 4-cylinder engine produces a reliable 113 hp, which is perfectly suited for smooth urban cruising and maintaining highway speeds between emirates. With a verified top speed of 180 km/h, it feels stable and composed at speed, offering the refined driving dynamics expected from a modern unibody crossover. Front-wheel drive ensures predictable handling on rain-slicked city roads or gravel-strewn desert fringes, while the automatic gearbox manages gear changes seamlessly for a relaxed driving experience.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed to shield occupants from the harsh GCC summer, featuring a high-output air conditioning system and well-insulated glass to maintain a cool environment. The 5-seat layout provides ample shoulder room for three adults in the rear, complemented by a flat floor that enhances middle-passenger comfort. Tech-savvy drivers will enjoy the intuitive digital dashboard and integrated connectivity, which makes navigating long cross-border trips effortless and entertaining.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include a comprehensive airbag system and electronic stability control, which is essential for managing traction on sand-dusted desert highways. The vehicle is equipped with rear parking sensors and a high-definition camera to assist in tight city parking, along with ISOFIX child seat anchors for family security. Its modern architecture is built with high-strength steel reinforcements, providing a rigid safety cell that meets contemporary crash protection standards.

The bottom line

Perfect for the tech-conscious family or professional seeking a new-car experience at a used-car price, this 1,200 km BYD is one of the freshest examples currently available in the GCC.
