Summary

This Geely Coolray GF offers a compelling modern package with its 2025 model year status and a mileage of 27,196 km, which is highly competitive for the GCC market. Finished in White, the most favored color for heat reflection and resale value in the region, this SUV stands out in the compact crossover segment with its aggressive styling and premium features. As the high-spec GF trim, it balances fuel efficiency with punchy turbocharged performance, making it ideal for both city commutes in Dubai and highway stretches to Abu Dhabi. For the GCC buyer, the strength of Geely's expanding service network through authorized distributors ensures reliable long-term ownership. It is an excellent choice for young professionals or small families seeking a tech-forward vehicle that holds its own against established Japanese and Korean rivals.

This Car vs Other 2025 Geely Coolrays

With 27,196 km on the odometer, this Coolray sits slightly above the average 20,000 km annual usage typical for the GCC, yet remains well within its mechanical prime. The White exterior is the strategic choice for the local market, ensuring the highest possible resale demand and keeping the cabin noticeably cooler during summer peaks. Unlike basic imports, this GCC-spec vehicle is fully optimized for regional fuel grades and extreme thermal conditions.

GF vs Lower Trims

The GF trim is a significant upgrade over the GL and GK versions, adding essential GCC luxuries like ventilated front seats and a massive 14.6-inch central infotainment screen. Safety is bolstered by the addition of the 540-degree camera—allowing you to see 'through' the chassis—and a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) including Blind Spot Detection. You also get the premium Energy Storm design package, featuring 18-inch tomahawk-style wheels and quad exhaust tips that are absent on base models.

Coolray vs Segment Rivals

The Coolray competes directly with the MG ZS and Hyundai Creta, leading the pack with a more responsive 1.5L turbocharged engine that delivers a quicker 7.6-second 0-100 km/h sprint. While rivals often stick to traditional 360-degree views, Geely’s 540-degree system provides better visibility for tight urban parking in Riyadh or Dubai. Its cabin tech and digital cockpit feel a generation ahead of the more conservative interior layouts found in the Creta or Seltos.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy is excellent, averaging 5.8 to 6.5 L/100km, making it one of the most efficient non-hybrid SUVs in its class for long highway drives between Emirates. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km at authorized centers like AGMC in the UAE, which are widely available across major GCC cities. The Coolray has shown strong value retention in the local market, typically retaining approximately 60% of its value after three years, outperforming many other emerging brands.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine produces 172-177 hp and 290 Nm of torque, paired with a smooth 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT). This setup provides confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways and a top speed of 195-200 km/h where conditions permit. While front-wheel drive, the BMA architecture ensures a planted feel during cross-country trips, and multiple drive modes—including an intelligent 'Smart' mode—adapt the throttle response for heavy city traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is purpose-built for the GCC climate, featuring powerful automatic air conditioning and front-seat ventilation that is vital during the summer months. The five-seat layout is wrapped in premium faux-suede materials, complemented by a panoramic sunroof and customizable ambient lighting. Practicality is managed through 330 liters of boot space, which expands significantly with the flat-folding rear seats, suitable for weekend shopping or road trip luggage.

Safety

Safety is a priority on the GF trim, featuring six airbags and a robust suite of active technologies including Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist. The 540-degree camera system is particularly useful for avoiding high curbs and obstacles in congested areas. Additionally, Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert provide vital assistance on the UAE’s multi-lane highways, where fast-moving traffic requires constant vigilance.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants high-end tech and turbocharged performance without the premium price tag, this 2025 Coolray GF is the smartest entry point into the modern SUV market. Its GCC-spec reliability and top-tier trim features make it a standout opportunity for anyone prioritizing value and style.
