Summary

This 1-year-old Hongqi Ousado Flagship is a compelling alternative to traditional executive sedans, offering a feature list that rivals luxury European competitors for a fraction of the cost. With 64,000 km on the clock, it has been driven more than the GCC annual average, yet its condition reflects the high build standards of China’s premier automotive brand. The Flagship trim is the most sought-after version in the UAE and Saudi markets, featuring a massive panoramic sunroof and a 12.3-inch digital cockpit that elevates the daily commute. Finished in Black, a top-tier resale color in the region, this sedan ensures strong value retention and visual prestige. For a buyer seeking modern technology and a smooth 8-speed Aisin transmission without the price tag of a Lexus or BMW, this is a standout opportunities in the current market.

This Car vs Other 2025 Ousados

While 64,000 km is above the typical 25,000 km annual average for the GCC, this mileage suggests a vehicle used primarily for long-distance highway cruises between cities, which is often easier on the engine than stop-start city traffic. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains the full cooling and air-con upgrades necessary for regional heat, unlike non-local imports. The classic black exterior is a distinct advantage for resale, as it remains the most requested color for executive sedans in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

FLAGSHIP vs Lower Trims

The Flagship trim transforms the cabin experience, upgrading the standard 8-speaker setup to a premium 12-speaker Dynaudio surround system and adding a sharp head-up display (HUD). It also introduces critical comfort features for the GCC climate, such as ventilated front seats and a more sophisticated 360° camera system compared to the basic rear-view unit found in the Luxury trim. Safety is further bolstered here by additional advanced driver assistance systems that make long desert highway stints effortless.

Ousado vs Segment Rivals

The Ousado leads its class in sheer dimensions, offering a wheelbase of 2,920 mm that provides more rear legroom than the Toyota Camry or Nissan Altima, making it feel more like a full-size executive car. While rivals focus on utility, the Hongqi prioritizes a 'composed, German-esque' ride quality and a level of interior leather refinement and noise insulation that is rarely seen at this price point. Its 223 hp turbocharged engine offers more punch for highway overtaking than the naturally aspirated units found in most base-trim Japanese competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0T engine averages approximately 6.6 L/100km on the highway, making it an efficient choice for cross-country drives within the UAE. Maintenance is handled via a growing authorized network, with Hongqi Al Tawkilat and similar partners providing 7-year or unlimited mileage warranties on new units, often transferable to subsequent owners. While depreciation is steeper than for a Toyota, the Ousado's initial value-for-money and high luxury spec help it retain a dedicated buyer base in the pre-owned market at the 3-year mark.

Performance & Capability

Propelled by a 2.0L turbocharged engine delivering 223 hp and 340 Nm of torque, the Ousado reaches 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds, providing effortless merging onto high-speed highways like E11. The 8-speed automatic transmission by Aisin is a well-regarded unit that ensures smooth shifts, distinct from the CVTs common in this segment. Four selectable drive modes—including Sport and Comfort—allow the driver to tailor the throttle response to either light city traffic or spirited open-road driving.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a massive 12.6-inch tablet-style vertical touchscreen, complemented by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver. Climate comfort is a priority with a powerful dual-zone A/C system, rear cooling vents, and an AQS air quality system that filters out fine dust common in the GCC environment. The massive 1010mm x 890mm panoramic sunroof is one of the largest in its class, providing an airy feel to the cabin even during the brightest summer days thanks to high-quality heat-reflective glass.

Safety

The Flagship trim comes equipped with 9 airbags as standard, including a driver’s knee airbag and curtain airbags that provide comprehensive protection. Its ADAS suite is specifically useful for GCC driving, featuring blind-spot monitoring for multi-lane highway traffic and adaptive cruise control for long-distance cruising. The vehicle's 'H-SAFE' high-strength cage body provides a solid safety foundation that has earned top marks in C-NCAP testing, offering peace of mind for family use.

The bottom line

Perfect for the young professional or family seeking a high-tech, executive-level sedan that punches well above its weight in luxury features and road presence.
