• 510 litres boot space (VDA)
• Top speed of 220 km/h

Summary

This 4-year-old Kia K8 offers a compelling executive experience for GCC buyers looking for modern luxury without the premium European price tag. With 66,000 km, its mileage sits well below the typical 80,000–100,000 km range expected for a car of this age in the region, making it an excellent find for those prioritizing mechanical longevity. The Grey exterior is a solid resale choice in the local market, maintaining its appeal and hiding desert dust better than darker tones. As an EX DLX trim, it bridges the gap between everyday practicality and high-end cabin tech, making it a standout in the mid-to-full-size sedan segment. The most important consideration for a GCC buyer is its extensive service network, ensuring effortless maintenance across the UAE and neighboring countries.

This Car vs Other 2022 K8s

With 66,000 km on the odometer, this K8 has been driven roughly 16,500 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km for executive sedans. This lower-than-average usage often results in less wear on the suspension and interior, providing a fresher feel for the next owner. The Grey paint is highly regarded in the UAE and wider GCC for its strong value retention and ease of maintenance in sun-heavy conditions.

EX DLX vs Lower Trims

The EX DLX trim upgrades the K8 experience with a focused suite of luxury and safety features that GCC buyers value, such as a larger curved infotainment display and an enhanced ADAS suite including blind-spot monitoring. While the base LX focuses on essentials, the EX DLX adds premium upholstery and more sophisticated interior ambient lighting. It also typically includes the 360-degree camera system, which is a vital aid for navigating tight parking spaces in busy urban centers like Dubai or Riyadh.

K8 vs Segment Rivals

The Kia K8 competes directly with the Toyota Avalon and Hyundai Azera, leading with a more futuristic design language and a tech-heavy cockpit inspired by high-end yachts. Its 3.5L V6 provides smooth, linear power that feels more composed on long highway stretches between emirates compared to smaller-displacement rivals. With 510 litres of boot space, it offers more practical cargo volume than the Nissan Maxima, making it better suited for family airport runs or weekend trips.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L GDI engine is optimized for long-distance highway efficiency, though stop-start city traffic in major GCC hubs will see higher consumption. It runs comfortably on 95 or 98-octane fuel, which is widely available at all regional stations. Kia's authorized service network is among the most robust in the GCC, ensuring that parts and expert technicians are accessible from Muscat to Kuwait City. The K8 maintains a steady depreciation curve, benefiting from Kia's rising brand prestige and the high demand for large, reliable V6 sedans in the local used market.

Performance & Capability

The 296 hp V6 engine allows the K8 to reach a top speed of 220 km/h, providing ample power for confident overtaking on the E11 or other fast-moving regional highways. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for refinement, delivering seamless shifts that prioritize cabin serenity during high-speed cruising. While it is a front-wheel-drive executive sedan, its well-sorted chassis handles the extreme heat and varied road surfaces of the GCC with ease, offering a stable and comfortable ride.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed with the 'yacht' aesthetic in mind, the cabin features a driver-centric layout with premium materials that remain cool even during intense GCC summers. The five-seat configuration provides generous legroom for rear passengers, making it suitable for executive transport or family use. High-performance air conditioning is a hallmark of this generation of Kia, ensuring the cabin reaches a comfortable temperature quickly after being parked in the sun. Thoughtful details like the multi-function centre armrest enhance the experience for those being chauffeured.

Safety

This trim features a comprehensive safety suite, including 10 airbags and advanced driver assistance systems tailored for highway safety. Systems such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Lane Keeping Assist provide an extra layer of protection during long desert drives. The standard 360-degree camera and rear cross-traffic alerts are particularly helpful in the fast-paced and often crowded traffic environments of major GCC cities.

The bottom line

This Kia K8 is the perfect match for an executive or family buyer who wants a low-mileage, high-tech sedan that stands out from the traditional choices. It offers the best of Korean innovation with a proven V6 powertrain that is perfectly suited for the GCC's unique driving demands.
